Part 2:    • Martin Shkreli Breaks Down the World'...
Martin Shkreli, the controversial figure known for his role in the pharmaceutical industry, shed light on his early life, education, and the mechanics of hedge funds. Born to Albanian immigrants in Brooklyn, Shkreli grew up in a working-class environment. Despite a challenging upbringing, he excelled academically but eventually dropped out of high school to pursue his interests in music, sports, and Wall Street. Shkreli explained how an elderly neighbor introduced him to the world of finance, sparking a lifelong interest. He likened stock trading to sports, where numbers and performance statistics drive the narrative. This fascination propelled him towards hedge funds, which he revealed as a significant but often secretive mechanism for amassing wealth. According to Shkreli, hedge funds allow the rich to leverage large capital reserves and market strategies to generate immense profits, often bypassing the traditional financial constraints faced by average investors.

This video indicates you don't need a high IQ to be a good investor, just 2 qualities, self discipline and a lot of patience. Investing is mostly about behavioral psychology. What would be the right investment to generate more income to retire with at least $3m for long term care?

As a black guy, im always gonna have a lot of appreciation to Martin. He used teach to teach a finance class on youtube prior to his prison stint, i think while on house arrest. I was working retail, didn’t know much, but would watch and got really interested. Picked up Brealey , Myers & Allen Finance textbook he recommended. Worked through it. Pursued a BBA did my own investing on the side. Fast forward many years later, I’ve had 6 year career in finance, start my MBA in September, and gonna take the CFA level 1. May still even pursue a career in biotech or focus on it for investing, just due to the opportunity there.

He grew up poor and didn't realize he was poor. Notice the mindset. He wasn't constantly reminded that he was a loser with no future. He attended a high school for gifted children. He was poor MINUS the poverty mindset and became successful regardless of how his life started.
  • Fantastic video! I have incurred so much losses trading on my own....I trade well on demo but I think the real market is manipulated.... Can anyone help me out or at least tell me what I'm doing wrong??
