Something that I recently found out (and I have been playing for quite a while) is that if you climb to the top of a lookout tower, walk around to the outside, go up against a railing and look out, you will get the option to find any near-by locations that you don't have on your map yet.
  • Yes to a new player this game can be very overwhelming. Tips like this are needed. Great video Rifle!

My wife and I started this game last month on a whim and it's been surprisingly fun for a fairly watered down Fallout experience. The survival and exploration are better than ever in the series, but the writing and world consistency takes a nose-dive. The addition of NPCs is nice, but they stick out against the original design like a modern addition on an old house. We found a lot of these tips the hard way over a month and a half of playing and it was bad enough that we both started new characters so we could start with a knowledge of what we were going to build towards.

Mutated serum recipes are a must if you buy a lot from vendors. Just one serum will sell for 500 caps if you have 15 charisma and hard bargain perk equipped. It's good to have a loadout just for this. When I get close to the 40k cap I often buy up the recall cards for encrypted and most lead, steel and acid bulk. Being able to sell serums to get back some caps is huge. Also I'm always sitting on 100k to 200k ammo this way I can use or sell which usually gets me back up to the 40k limit in short order.

In case you forgot, this is how things were, BEFORE wastelanders dropped...No NPC's. All enemies were level 5, (count em, 5) One shot anything with a shotgun, until BGS nerfed it. PVP, scammers, and griefers EVERYWHERE. 76 is a totally different exp now.
  • A good thing to do for new players is to check the suitcases anytime they visit a trainstation, people dump their unwanted ammo, scrap, plans and even legendaries in there. I do and i have found a lot yhat way to.

using the free fast travel points is a great caps saver. i have a camp near 51, south of lucky mine and purchased a 3rd south of harpers ferry to help pad out far spots from the free travel points.

For new players I definitely recommend finding a buddy. I know a bunch of high level players who "take on" a new players and help them get set with plans, caps, weapons, armour and leveling
  • I always had heard bad things about fallout 76 but when I just recently just started playing and I love the game! Only been playing this week on and off. Already lvl 25

I picked it back up recently and watched a ton of these tips videos trying to learn the little things. They were all useless. This one was exactly what I needed. Really great job. Thanks for doing this.

I can't believe this is the same Rifle Gaming that made those awesome borderlands 2 videos. That door intro was amazing, brother. Real glad to see you're still on the platform, and as someone getting into fallout76 for it being in the gamepass, I appreciate the vid 👍
  • Love how you help out new players. I too tend to hook them up with a few hundred treasure maps and showing them how to use the scrap box to dump all their newly gotten resources. Good on ya mate!!
  • Recently picked it up and I’ve spent most of my time hopping between bases to see what I can buy for decorating. I’m level 40 and I still haven’t talked to the overseer. I keep getting distracted haha. The holy grail I’ve been looking for is a Nuka girl rug but the one I found was absurdly expensive

Make sure to progress with the Foundation side of the Wastelanders quest until you unlock the Chinese Stealth Suit. Once you get that, you can switch to raiders if you want, but that suit is really nice to have!
  • You can also earn your choice of raider or settler rep by doing the daily cooking quest with Esme in The Whitespring Refuge.
  • A very important thing you missed, especially for new players, is that while on a team, you can fast travel to team members C.A.M.P.s for free. Another plus, is that you can also fast travel to wherever your teammates are for free as well. This is an awesome tool, for a new player, to get locations all over the map marked quickly, without having to spend any caps. When developing some of my new character's, I always join many different public teams, to quickly get many places marked on my map. Also, I took advantage of the sale, and am now on PC, LOL! I couldn't resist the Steam version for $9. It's so surreal, coming from PSN console from release to a noob on PC, with nothing... 😂🤣

one thing that these videos usually don't mention is random npc encounters, if you talk to them you can get free stuff or they can ask you for help. and helping out might get you a small amount of faction rep. you can even have a few npc characters join your camp. though only one at a time. by the way, it's great that there are video instructions for beginners
  • As someone who was beyond mad when 76 came out. Im very happy with where its at now. <3 can only hope we get some more open world areas to maybe travel to and explore.
  • @Michael-gh1tj
I usually play private world but when I do occasionally go to public I usually just help new guys with quests and drop them loads of stimpacks and ammo

Hard to imagine this game was a dumpster heap at launch, and years later is still thriving. Props to BGS for not giving up and making this game a truly fun multi-player experience it was supposed to be. Also great video rifle as always, definitely will help newcomers get their footing quicker.
