They assail drilling platforms with high-speed boats, seizing foreign nationals for future ransom negotiations. In 2015, a total of 73 such attacks occurred, leading to the abduction of 62 individuals. They represent the contemporary era of piracy, redefining kidnapping as a profitable enterprise, and viewing themselves as modern-day Robin Hood figures. Their primary targets are oil companies, which they accuse of exploiting the nation's natural resources without reciprocation. In this documentary, we followed soldiers, sailors, and pirates over several months, joining them on their raids to unveil their operational methods.

  • The guy being interviewed wraps it up nicely by say “you come to exploit but you don’t want to employ, this is why we do this”. These people are not dumb,

These guys aren't the real pirates. The actual pirates have yachts, mansions and millions upon billions of dollars.

Them dying after interviews is the reason they will never allow you guys to interview them again

That guy has the most wicked scar I’ve ever seen! Definitely worthy of a movie character!
  • Can't blame these guys. Oil companies pumping oil from their land making millions while the natives starve. I'm with these guys 100%.

You spend about $1m monthly securing your oil platform, if you inject about 30% of those funds into those communities monthly, you wouldn't need to spend as much anymore. Give back directly to people you take from, that doesn't seem difficult to do. Is it?

Africa seems to have so much to offer, yet the people suffer so deeply. I feel for them. Very good documentary.

This documentary offers an impressive and insightful firsthand view of the "other" side, requiring a great deal of courage to produce something like this. Hats off.
