Are Toyota Hiluxes as durable as Top Gear says they are? I get into some car wrecks, pull 30,000lbs uphill in 769th gear, and perform a few more mild tests. #hilux

I know you're probably mad about the ads :( But I really try to make the video worth it at least. I don't have a house rn :/

The fact that there is a “test number 2” on the whistlindiesel channel kinda speaks for itself. This truck is an absolute BEAST.

"Is the Hilux as durable as Top Gear says it is?" - No. It's more

The folding hood IS a sign of quality. The hood has to buckle in an accident so that it doesn't decapitate the occupants. Folding is engineered into it.

The hood is designed to fold in the middle in case an accident to shield the windshield from other incoming objects. It is a safety feature :) So the folding hood is working perfectly. @10:00.

Best part is how nonchalant everything is until you start pulling 30k...Can't even joke around at that point, you just witness it all in awe.
  • That truck blasting through that mud pit with that pallet of cmu block on the back is seriously impressive! Like holy shitnickels what a truck!

Him bombing the field with a bed full of cinder blocks is still one of the best forms of video art I’ve ever witnessed. Beautiful.

The Toyota Hilux is like a GTA vehicle in real life, it never stops driving.
  • I was scared watching the first test because I was cringing at all the abuse he was putting it through but really impressed that it made it out alive this video I have so much more confidence that I'm not scared one bit, yet still really impressed

Such good content. Straight to the point and "real world tests" haha so great to see Whistlin Diesel testing quality products (Toyota enthusiast myself)

the hood is designed to fold in half like that in case of a crash. you don’t want a sheet of steel cutting you in half durring an 80mph crash. thats why they always fold perfectley straight.
