    I remember hearing the answers to this and thinking "wow she can't even compliment him, only his children, and then just moves on to talk about whatever."

    I think his compliment was great. She sounded like she didn't want to compliment him. She could have just said he was a great dad etc. and not turn away from him when doing it. He did sound very genuine.
