In this tutorial we cover the process of creating a simple hand mold using one of our new 5"x12" mold tubes. This is a great, easy way to make prop hands fast. As mentioned in the video, here are the products we used:

Burry half of it so just the hand is sticking up in the woods

Always nice to see more videos! Also, if I want to get a poseable cast, would embedding a wire armature work? or the silicone might be too thick for it to properly bend?
  • About how much silicone did you use to make three models, and can you tattoo on the models?

How would you trim it if any bubbles on the hands, just a sharp knife?

Do not throw that away, it's a waste. Instead, chop it up into smaller chunks. Next time you pour an algenite, use the bigger chunks along side the liquid so you don't have to use as much liquid.

You mentioned if you wait too long between the mold and the cast, that the alginate will shrink and distort. Would pouring a cast, and just leaving it prevent this? Would you be able to remove the cast at a later time and retain the mold's form?
  • @HomeHaunter1
Would you be able to post a current price for all your supplies so we each know if this is even in our budget? I don't imagine you used $500 in product but I don't have any idea otherwise.

How can you make a prosthetic arm that’s like a face mask?

Would this method and materials be safe for ...more "sensitive" areas of the body?

Can ACCU-CAST 380-CC cast cast arms fingers and hands too?
