CVR (ChilloutVR) is a social VR game that I stumbled across one night and ended up having a blast in. Join me, as I take a deep dive into the game's culture, community, & more! #documentation #review #virtualreality #vr #chilloutvr #vrchat #vrc #documentary #funny

This game definitely reminds me of other games like VRChat and Resonite in one way or another, like with a prop system similar to Resonite's, or a thriving community of individuals creating avatars and worlds like in VRChat. Honestly, in my opinion it is definitely a hidden gem in terms of how many people are actively playing the game which is why I wanted to see if I could spread more awareness about it.

The performance shocks me as it is one of the best performing VR titles out there, and especially with its ease of modification. This allows for accessibility features to be created by the community, which other VR titles DRASTICALLY need to start taking notes on. Unless you're playing on a nokia phone from 1998, the game performs well enough to be ran on most devices VR or not.

This video DEFINITELY was a piece of work. I don't believe it truly lives up to the standards of the type of video I'd like to produce in the end, but I really hope you guys enjoy regardless Thanks for sticking around nerds B)
  • Small content creators on their way to make absolute masterpieces that will get 60 views and die in the algorithm while large content creators straight up steal other peoples videos.
  • Aloha, I am honestly surprised; I didn't expect this type of video. It is a very wholesome video, and I look forward to what you make. I was also surprised to see me in here, lol. It does put a big smile on my face. If you ever want to hang out or chill out, feel free to reach out and have fun with my community. I look forward to seeing you again. Ethan.

Great job on the video! The editing is pretty awesome. So, CVR is an interesting one for me, but I'm glad to see your first expression was better than mine back in the day. (Disclaimer: My first experience with it was quite a while ago, so these things might not hold up anymore today). The game has a content rating system, and anything that's flagged as mature is locked behind a free DLC. Unfortunately... that DLC is impossible to aquire in Germany. Which is super ironic considering Alpha Blend Interactive is a German company. This wouldn't be a problem, if not for the fact that when I joined, almost every avatar people were using was hidden from me because I didn't have the DLC (I was just in a public lobby...). So I had to write a mod to patch out the DLC check just to be able to properly see other people. But when I finally did figure that out, I was running around for 2 hours, and I couldn't really find anyone to do something with. Any person I found was just sitting in front of a mirror, doing nothing, which felt really weird to me. Considering I didn't see that in your video, I assume that's probably changed by now. The prop system is neat, even if it's unfortunate that you can only really create props using the Unity editor. It's a bit disappointing coming from Resonite, but it's still better than being locked to only props that are part of the world you're currently in, like in some other social VR games. At the end though I left because I couldn't really find someone to do something with. I'll probably give it another shot eventually, but that time taking friends with me so I won't run into the lonelyness problem again. We did something similar with VRC for Furality, a little field trip with a bunch of other Resonite players, and it was pretty fun! I will note that from hosting Z-Rave on the Resonite side of things, I know there are some cool rave / party worlds on there, so at the very least that's something I want to explore on my next visit. I'm sure there's also a bunch of unique game worlds and props to explore... I just hope it doesn't suffer from the same content discoverability issue Resonite is still facing.
