MonuMENTAL Skopje-that is brilliant :))). Modern Macedonians are historically ethnic Bulgarians. The paradox of the situation with Greece is that the Greeks actively in the past imposed the thesis that the Slavs in Macedonia were Slavonized ancient Macedonians in order to separate them from Bulgaria and assimilate them. Modern Greece is reaping the bitter fruits of its own propaganda from the past. The Greek propaganda was realized, but instead of becoming Greek, the Slavs in Macedonia want now their ancient Macedonian lands :))). The funny thing is that even today Greece refuses to recognize that these people are Bulgarians and speak Bulgarian. Most Greek historians admit it, but at the political level they talk about Slavs (it is not clear what these Slavs are). To make the story truly Balkan, these people during yugoslav communism falsified 1400 years of history of the Buglars and rewrote it as Macedonian and now make territorial claims to Bulgaria. Bulgaria blocked them for the EU with a request to remove the falsifications, but the Macedonians stubbornly claim that they have the right to read their history as they want :))). Thus, in Skopje you can see statues of medieval Bulgarian kings who are presented as Macedonian king - you will not read about Macedonian kings anywhere in Western literature, because such a thing does not exist in history. North Macedonia is the North Korea of the Balkans.
