The comp wall (bottom floor) is set to be a lot harder than the top floor. This is intentional on the setters part so don't feel bad about it being so hard. This is also why the whites upstairs are a lot more accessible ! For those who're thinking about visiting I also would recommend trying the lead walls as well. They do not have a huge and magnificent steep wall like Arkose Pantin but setting is top notch and the two roofs are a ton of fun to climb on ! (Especially Lolo's one, what a legend) Also recommend Arkose Nation (go from 10 to 16 on week days, don't go on the weekends), Climbing District Jaurès and Le Triangle Bercy (where you can find some of my setting please go) as good bouldering gyms. Very different setting philosophies as well so each one is really different from the other ! Lovely video as usual keep it up Josh ! It's always fun to see youtubers on climbs we actually can go and check out

loving this gym review format, also liked it that you went up to locals to ask them about it

Just thought I’d mention that if the gym isn’t associated with an actual World Record, you should be cautious of using their logo in the thumbnail. I have heard they can be sticklers about it and your video might get flagged.

Nice to hear from you that some boulders are difficult, I am not the only one thinking that some boulders are sometimes tough!😁
  • I go climbing there about once a month as I live a bit far away. I agree that the gym is great to train movement, especially comp style. It just lacks a bit of boulders and training stuff for outdoors (crimpy boulders, Moon or Kilterboard...). Loved to see you climbing in this gym anyways.
  • hey josh I ve just climbed a 10b thanks to you, because I m subscribed 😂, it was really nice meeting you !

Thank you for the video, you are an excellent climber, and there are some amazing climbing gyms around. My aim is to overcome my fear of heights. Climbing has helped me build confidence and last year saw some big changes such as meeting my husband and marrying him. Climbing is for all ages and a great sport. Thank you for sharing.

The purple you were doing at around 11 minutes was set for a competition so harder than usual purples.. nice vid cheers
  • @trucsympa
Yeah, the setting here in Paris is all about body positioning and finding beta, which is fun most of the time, and I guess we've got to train crimps on the fingerboard... Great vid! You should also try Arkose for the vibes, though
  • @dani_687
I would like to see you trying some hard routes on a gym like that.

It was such a surprise to see my climbing coach on your video at 10:27, I really wasn't ready for that haha !! Also, if you find the spray wall massive, go to Slovenia, in Ljubljana, there are not as much gyms as in Paris but everything is better in settings, grading and the spraywall are worth millions of € of holds. Even in Koper and Bled it's fucking huge. There is not that much spraywall in France because it cost too much and people don't know how to use it. There is not a lot of board too (like Kilterboard or Moonboard). Which is very frustrating. Also, in Paris, a ton of gyms are sandbagged and doesn't reflect really well the difficulty. I'm from Paris and climb in a lot of gyms but the difference between gradings in each gyms EVEN in the same company (Climbing District, Climb Up, Arkose...) are so, so different... It's too much about "ego climbing" and grade chasing. Also, a lot of the route settings are way easier than what it should be and very often. And for insurance reason, there is not too muc slabs because you hurt yourself more than doing overhanging routes when you fall right onto the mat. But besides that, this gym is really huge and no one can enter there without having fun, there is just way too much things to try. I already spent a day from 10am to 10pm climbing there and still wanted to climb because there is too much thing to do. And I agree that in Paris, crimps are usually in the higher grades and thats bad because you can't train properly on easiest grades (and so you have to fingerboard early in your climbing journey to compensate that). Anyway, nice video, I was really impatient to see it after the short you posted on ytb !

I went to this gym during the summer, although it’s a great place it was actually 40 Celsius inside because of the glass ceiling and it was unbearable for lead climbing.
