I kinda like the blue pockets! To see them is a bit of a surprise, like "Are these magic pants??" lol
  • @leahd8150
I’m new to Catherine’s tutorials but she does such a good job explaining step by step what to do, why she’s doing it and other options. I’m excited to learn more from her.
  • Never thought about adding the extension. Love your videos. I've been sewing for 60 years but I learn lots of tips from you Catherine.
  • @loissage3630
I will have to remember the phrase ”design decision “ so cute! 🥰 I have learned a lot from you. Thank you.

I hope your Mom's transitioning okay in to long term care. It's often not easy for them or for you. Great pants! Love the pocket extension!!
  • I recently started watching videos to get back into sewing, and I think you've become my favorite sewing youtuber. You do a good job teaching!

Thanks for this. My mum passed away recently so I have been taking in some of her tops and blouses for me to wear. I know she would have approved. Now I feeI could tackle some of her trousers too.
  • I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your time, your talent, your love, & your joy with us all. God bless you & your family.

Excellent! Exactly what I needed to learn, pocket extensions! Love your channel! You are a wonderful teacher. ❤
  • Thank you for this timely tutorial. I thrifted some casual pants that needed downsizing. Most have pockets, but now I know I can make the changes look professional. Not scary anymore. Thank you again.

This video inspired me to tackle a pair of quite expensive pants that had 4 deep pleats at the front, creating a much undesired bulk around my tummy, no thanks. Ended up getting rid of 2, and inserting the pockets inside the other two, almost gave up 10 times, but then I thought: Catherine wouldn't give up! I love them now, thank you Catherine🌼

I like .the bright blue, too, but I really don't have a problem watching black on black sewing. You explain it well so no worries. You do make it look easy to add pockets, something all pants should have!! I may be brave one day and try this
  • @PreciousMe
Love this idea. I'm always finding pants that are too big, but was afraid to try. You make it look doable. Big Hugs

This is so timely! I just inherited a bunch of clothes from a friend that I will use to practice . One is a comfy pair of capris that need pockets. Im so inspired by all your videos and your creativity, and less intimidated to try my hand at this. Who knows…maybe among my trials I’ll create a few new pieces for my wardrobe. Thank you again !
  • Years ago, before the internet, when I first started sewing, I tried to take in a pair of pants and totally failed. I ended up making the crotch curve deeper because I didn't understand how pants went together. This video would have really made a difference.

This is GENIUS!!! I love this tutorial! I bought some second-hand pants that I need to take in. I'm so glad that I procrastinated! I'm definitely going to try this out! Thank you very much, Catherine!!!
  • @saseim1
Thanks for sharing! I learned to sew in high school and I was pretty adventurous for a time when we had no video tutorials. I had a great teacher who inspired me to try lots of new things! I learned how to do pockets long ago, but you inspire me to try things I haven’t done before. Thanks!!🌺
  • @marklee1960
SO helpful, I wish I'd seen this before I adjusted some pants. Yesterday :(
  • @soniaclarke1171
Another great sewing advice. Love all your videos Catherine. Watching from UK

Another great tutorial!! Unfortunately, I find the need to let pants out these days, rather than make them smaller. But the principles you demonstrated are transferable, and who knows - I’ll know what to do if i come across a pair of pants that are too big for me. Also - that’s a nice way to honor your mom - by making something of hers work for you ❤
