Want a Golf Course Lawn? Watch This.

In this video, we will show you 3 simple steps to achieving a golf course lawn.

Step 1: Mow Low

The first thing you’ll notice with golf course grass is that it’s mowed low and if you want a similar ascetic you will have to do the same. Contrary to popular belief, you don't necessarily need a reel mower; a regular rotary mower can do the job just fine. However, there's a specific technique involved. We'll discuss how to adjust the height of your rotary mower gradually over several mowing sessions to avoid damaging your grass while still achieving that golf course aesthetic.

Step 2: Level your Lawn

Ensuring your lawn is level is crucial for achieving a golf course appearance. Golf courses stand out for their smooth, flat surfaces, and you can replicate this by using simple tools like sand, soil, a rake, and a broom. Today we’ll demonstrate a straightforward method to level your lawn effectively along with tips on how to source the best dirt , soil and sand for lawn leveling.

Step 3: Fertilize Often

To attain a golf course-quality lawn, consistent fertilization is key. Instead of applying fertilizer monthly, opt for smaller, more frequent doses to maintain a deep green and uniform color. Today we will use carbon-based organic based fertilizer, the same type utilized by professional golf courses, to help achieve lush, deep green grass.

Apart from the three fundamental steps we've covered, we're thrilled to welcome a guest who will share two additional tips for achieving a golf course lawn appearance.

George I just want to say that when I first came upon one of your videos years ago I was like “oh boy , another guy trying to make lawn videos “. But your vids are spot on . I’ve been making my own improvements ( and mistakes ) on my own lawn through the years and find your vids to be accurate and informative . Very relatable. Keep up the good work and thanks for keeping it simple and speaking as clearly as you do .

For flowers, start with just what you think is pretty and looks nice with the house. The wife will be a huge help with this. Consider bulbs also for when fall approaches.
