Didn't need the DVI adapter, the card has mini displayport 1.2 which can do 1440p at 144hz and 4k at 75hz.

10:51 There's yellow crust at 12 o' clock, which indicates a leaking cold plate(and probably gunked up internals). Explains why the AIO was on the verge of failing.
