Alex... Respectfully... You "missed" something... I'm a 5+ Mile Miler flyer (TV producer) with 6-8 international longhaul flights each year and I decided, before an upcoming trip to Australia, that I would survey some of YouTube's "travel experts" suggestions and I am stunned that I have not seen any "travel expert" offer this advice and this is so simple to implement... BRING A PILLOWCASE... And if you are flying in a window seat and have brought with you any kind of jacket, toss the jacket into the pillowcase and... Voila... You will have a much more comfortable headrest... (If you're flying during cooler months and have brought with you a down jacket, you will have a VERY comfortable pillow, in fact.) And when you get to your destination you can use your pillowcase to help separate used clothing (socks, etc) from your fresh clothes... We ALL sleep with a pillow at home and while the "yoke" headrest you describe here works, if you are at home would you rather sleep wearing that yoke or rest your head on a pillow? (Again, I'm describing sitting in a window seat, for a middle seat or an aisle seat, your yoke headrest is better than nothing...) I've flown for 40 years and I have never seen anyone (other than myself) use a pillowcase in this fashion. I don't get it? Why not do this?

I'd recommend if you get dry eyes a lot and wear contacts, but don't want to screw around with eye drops on a flight, wear glasses and pack the contacts.

One of the best packing videos I’ve seen recently. Professional and to the point.🤙🏾

I carry a roll of doggie bags in carry one bag as well as in my auto too! One roll is less than one inch and slides into a make-up bag or glass case. When used for doggie walking to pick up poop, they appear very small, but for people items, they’re surprisingly generous in size when paper or plastic is smushed together inside. Some doggies bags may even be cute having stripes or other patterns. A dollar store may carry them too!
  • Great tips! I also travel extensively all over the world. Just returned from a long haul 15.5 hr flight. As mentioned in others comments - make sure to check the carryon restrictions of the airlines you will traveling on. Some have very strict size and weight restrictions. I personally travel with a small makeup size bag to hold everything I need for the flight in my backpack that I take out and tuck on the side of my seat. Eye mask, lip balm, wipes, earplugs, ginger chews, gum, travel toothbrush and toothpaste, earbuds, a small snack, etc. It allows me to not have a backpack on the floor and have more leg room. I put my flight essentials bag and my charged mini iPad in a ziplock that I pull out before sitting down. Most times I can put my backpack and carryon in top bin.

Love it! I use essential oils but not on a plane. My friend is allergic to mint. And my husband HATES the smell of essential oils. I try to be mindful of scents in a small space.
  • These are some great traveling tips! I loved all the details about your experiences traveling and what works best to be as comfortable as possible! Thank you! 😊❤
  • Well this was well worth my time...I don't think you missed a single thing. Such an awesome video, thanks so much.
  • @kittyone600
I wouldn’t have the luxury of using precious carryon space for most of the items mentioned 😅. Usually stuff the carryon with clothing and necessities to avoid paying for checked baggage
  • @jacybrazil816
The best packing video Iv seen!! Iv watched so many and this one is the only one that’s super practical! Thank you!!
  • cloth wrist bands also work really well if you get nausteous on trips. I used them in Israel on the curvy roads on the bus and they REALLY work ! No gravol needed !
  • @doodsanddudes
These are well thought out packing tips. If your bringing a carry on you have to plan strategically. The tech organizer is great also. I have one for my cables and plugs. Battery pack is great also
  • @suecourt1909
I always have a moisturising SPF 30 face cream in my liquids bag
  • I am a F/A and i found your video super informative. Like the use of the bags for I phone and storing things, Ill copy you. thanks so much for helping us out.
  • You travel like I do! Normally people push the hard-sided carry-on cases then talk about sneaking extra stuff on board. Yes, they look cool and make traveling through the airport easier. Like you, however, I prefer to use a duffel bag in flight so everything is right in front of me. I've had great luck with the duffel that Rick Steves sells. It looks similar to yours but has extra pockets on the outside. I like that I rarely even have to put it on my lap to retrieve what I need. I know where things are stored and can easily access through the outside pockets items are in or in the travel pouches like you use. I also use an oversized scarf as a blanket, but mine has pockets on the bottom ends which I use to hold my phone and earbuds case, etc. Handy if I fall asleep while listening to a book. Along with non-liquid OTC medical supplies like Tylenol, Pepto Bismol, etc., I carry hard ginger candies just in case I get motion sickness. Problems are rare but they can happen and I'd rather be prepared than embarrassed and/or miserable. I also pack a pair of "Fitkicks" which are rubber soled stretchy slipper shoes. Very comfortable and take almost no room in a bag because they are completely flat. I then use a carabiner to attach my regular shoes to my duffel so they don't get lost under the seat somewhere. I agree about carrying the water mister to spray on your face, especially on long flights. It's amazing how much that really helps! I also use either ziplocs for garbage or a roll of those pet waste bags, which were very helpful when my kids were little. So many messes could be tied up and either handed over to the flight attendants without being too gross or just carried off the plane myself. Thanks for your effort in making this video and for all the great tips.

Many times I have to travel with a lot of prescription medication. Also my prescriptions are normally filled for 90 days in very large bottle. I've recently learned that some pharmacist well give you smaller stickers on small Ziplock bags so you can take just the amount of pills you'll need. Of course I always pack extra pills just in case of delays
  • Glad that I found this video, I just bought the bag, perfect size to put under the seat, and affordable.
  • @marit6164
This is hands down the best and most thorough video on flight essentials! Love it❤
  • This popped up for viewing, I started looking and decided that I didn't want to waste time; I came back to it and OMG!!!! THIS IS THE BEST TRAVEL VIDEO I HAVE SEEN. And to think I almost passed this up. I've kept it in my Travel folder and watch later folder to ALWAYS reference it. 🥰🥰Thank you SO much for taking the time to do this video.❤❤❤❤
  • @melissaadk46
Thank you for this video. It's very helpful. I did not know that airport security only allows fully charged batteries and devices. Safe travels!
