In this video the Onity hotel key hack was used and well it REALLY worked. This was the 4th test the first 2 test were because it had the wrong barrel plug and the third test worked. There may be a better video soon.

Script is here:

From my experience it will only work on Onity locks and only about 70% of them. You can give it a try. I'm sure you could do some work in the scripting to get it to work on any lock with a barrel plug with low security.

No its just the code/script ran through a barrel plug. I had a "how to" video but it got flagged and removed for some reason. Not really I just mounted it to the board for simplicity. I do have it in an enclosure now. I took a small "travel" wet wipe container and cut a window out of the top, hot glued in some plexiglass, and hot glued the board in it.

That makes sense. I just wouldn't stay at a hotel with onity locks. Thanks for coming and watching by the way.

So what dimensions were your barrel plug? Daeken didnt know if his was 5x2.1mm or 5.5x2.1mm and did you indeed use a 5.6k resistor? Thx

First amendment. You should be proud I'm able to post this. This was revealed at Black Hat Security conference in 2012. The Manufacture is already aware. They are using an epoxy to plug the holes (from what i've read) so this can't be done. which is good. I thought of many different ways to fix this but the epoxy was the easiest.

I just went and tried to test out the device again just to see if they had done anything to fix it and they have plugged the holes with some sort of plastic plug. I didn't bother trying to remove it or anything because I wasn't trying to vandalize anything I just wanted to know if they still had the security flaw.

top of the top my frien, I'll try to to make it, and if it will really work as good, I'll do you a good present. As a respect to the people who knows there job. Does this device will work for the Ving locks?

So I've arrived at a hotel with these locks. There are no plugs and no sign they have ever been plugged. Manager says not to worry, "most" locks have been upgraded and I have nothing to worry about. Hotel seems a little on the run down side. I've ordered an Arduino shipped here overnight. I'd like to know if there are any cleanups done to the sketch to improve reliablity. I'd like to demonstright the problem to the manager. Maybe I'll stay for free? Any help? Are there known software fixes? Thx!

A link to the script is in the description now. I thought it was already there but for some reason it wasnt. It is at the bottom of the page on the paper

Were they able to do it without modification to the instructions?
  • @chasegulla7444
Do you need to include and libraries when you upload it and I so witch ones
  • @Ashhow
Hello there, I saw in the comments section you posted a how-to video which was taken down, is there any chance you could send me the instructions? I'm a hobby lock picker and this would be a nice addition to my collection, Many thanks.

most hotels wont use the epoxy, they ahve the overide for a reason so a manager can gain access into door locks that are broken and need to be replaced

explains why the views jumped from 10k to 20k pretty much overnight

Do you have the code for this avalible. I have a buddy who says its cannot be done. He also works for a hotel as a manager
