The Perfect Scene In DUNE PART 2

There are many scenes in Dune Part 2 that stand out when I think of the best scene in the film. I honestly could have picked 3 or 4. But I think the one I picked showcases the turn of Paul Atreides and the central purpose of Villeneuve's adaptation the best, and it grows every time I see it. I had no idea that Chalomet could authentically pull off and display such powerful ferocity... absolutely incredible. He is fantastically talented. That scene still gives me goosebumps when I think about it.

His oration in this scene literally had me shaking in my seat for what was about to come. I was floored by the way he was able to alter his voice and the authority it gave

Love the heartfelt smile from Gurney when Paul puts on his father’s ring.

Paul walking away from the worm with that hood on was such a breathtaking scene. Holy fuck

Finally someone shoot out this scene, everyone talked about the worm ride or the battle, but this one boy, the all theater went silent in awe

paul accepting his role as messiah was so emotional . you can really feel him being torn between his loyalty to fremen but also chani individually

I think one of my favorite parts about how this shift is addressed visually is that we no longer have close ups of Paul. We are given a more distant view of him in crowds as if we are observing and judging him for the first time like others in the crowd. The audience has essentially lost touch with the old Paul (established by all of extreme close-ups of him and Chani in the first acts which essentially show his humanity).

I agree. My jaw was on the floor and I really didn't believe that Chalamet had it in him. He was amazing and as someone noticed since waking up after drinking the Water of Life his eyes were so tired and sad because of what he saw. Incredible performance.

Gurney loved Paul, but when Paul put on his father's ring I felt he went from 100 to 1000 percent on board. He smiled almost to tears and I felt that. That and the fremen riding into battle with the Atreides flag I could watch 1000 times.

I absolutely love the way Paul goes from sympathetic to absolutely horrifying in this movie, it really does the book justice.

The south arrakis speech is my fav. Timothée speaks in the Fremen language with strong conviction and “flips the switch” in assuming his form as the Lisan Al Gaib! A true cult-leader moment 🔥

So many actors with budding careers delivering career-defining roles in this film

I don't think there's a single person that didn't think this scene was their favorite. This scene was so moving and powerful. Masterful story telling, and Tim absolutely nailed it.

4:55 I loved how when hes walking through the crowd it looks like grains of sand under a microscopic lens

Paul speaking to the war council , the reading of one kind of a fremen warrior, how his grandmother died and what age, etc, was the best part of the film. Proving in front of everyone he is the voice from the outer world.

I always knew Thimotée had this very dark side he could display. You can see it in The King, more veiled of course, I think there are many faces that he will show. For example, going being sweet Wonka to dark Paul is in itself a great achievement. I rather have a dark hero. They are so much interesting.

I think I'll watch this movie 5 times in a theatre before thinking that's enough, and when finally it hits netflix, ill watch it a dozen more times. This is the kind of movie that made me fall in love with the experience of going to a theatre and getting entertained. So many breathtaking shots. Denis Villeneuve is a treasure.

This scene is probably my favorite scene from any movie ever.
