David Gilmour's guitar solo in Comfortably Numb is one of the best and most popular ever to be recorded.
  • David Gilmore's wife was asked once about his playing and her response went along these lines.... "He has a hard time putting his feelings into words but if you give him a guitar he'll make you feel his emotions."
  • Very observative. For many people, Gilmour is considered the greatest guitarist of all time because his playing is not bragging or showing off, but a distinct voice talking to your emotions.
  • Dave Gilmour doesn't play the guitar, he makes the guitar speak. Such a great band. Great reaction guys and love your channel. 👊🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

David Gilmour is the only guitarist that has made me shed a tear with his transcendentally emotional playing. It was an honor to be able to see him/them live several times over the years. His heart and soul is directly connected to his hands.

The light show looks futuristic by today’s standards, yet this concert took place almost 30 years ago in 1994. Just another example of Pink Floyd being ahead of their time.

"Experience!" Yes that's the word. You don't listen to Pink Floyd, you experience them.
  • @paulhatton3246
I was there in 94 at Earl’s Court, 2 1/2 hours of pure brilliance, there will never be another group who will ever get close
  • @paulteague2586
As a English lad no one comes close to floyd❤the sound is heaven on earth
  • @Biking360
I was there and I can tell you from personal experience it was absolutely epic!!

I once played this song to a girlfriend that I had as we drove to a luxurious restaurant. And after listening to it, she turned to me with a bewildered look and asked, "You actually like that song?" That is when I slowly pulled over the vehicle and gently came to a stop. I took a deep breath and let out a long sigh. I then grabbed my door handle and opened my door. I got and calmly made my way over to her side of the vehicle. I gently grabbed her door handle and kindly opened her door for her and nicely said, "Peace Out Girl!" 😂 So congrats on finding a lovely woman who seems to have enjoyed this masterpiece of music.
  • Gilmour's guitar solo is what you'll hear after you flatline in the ER and start floating down that long, mysterious tunnel of light toward whatever follows.

This is a prime example as to why so many, like myself, could never get into Rap and Hip Hop. When your exposed to this greatness all of your life….the rest is negative-noise; lacks true musicianship!
  • @user-iu1ng7qz2g
If you can get the entire audience it SIT while you’re playing a 6 minute solo….. that’s greatness 😊
  • @dariusdodd
Still makes me emotional after all these years
  • I was at this show! This was part of a 3 song encore. Totally awesome night out. My favourite Floyd song. They don't use a support band. They play 2 sets with a 15 minute break in between them. Incredible visuals that the video cannot do justice to.

Pink Floyd is the best sounding band live I've ever seen....they play in surround sound in the arena it's absolutely incredible!

"Coming Back To Life" from this same Pulse concert is simply breathtaking. Fortunate enough to have seen this tour live. I was in tears.

The prism image is from the album cover for "Dark side of the moon" which came out in 1973. The album is so good its what really put Floyd into super band status. Time is one song that takes in more meaning with each passing year and Great Gig in the sky is unique in its presentation.
  • I saw this concert in 1994 at Foxboro MA. Having been to over 100 concerts in my lifetime that is still the best concert I have ever seen. The whole production especially the stage was incredible.
