Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is a 2011 period action mystery film directed by Guy Ritchie and produced by Joel Silver, Lionel Wigram, Susan Downey, and Dan Lin. It is the sequel to the 2009 film #Sherlock_Holmes and features the Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The film's screenplay was written by Michele Mulroney and Kieran Mulroney. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law reprise their roles as Holmes and Watson, alongside Noomi Rapace as Simza, Stephen Fry as Mycroft Holmes, Jared Harris as Professor Moriarty and Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler. Although the film follows an original premise, it incorporates elements of Conan Doyle's short stories "The Final Problem" (1893) and "The Adventure of the Empty House" (1903).[4] In the film, Holmes and Watson travel across Europe with a Romani adventuress to foil an intricate plot by their cunning nemesis, Professor Moriarty, to instigate a war.

Upon its release, the film received positive reviews from critics, most of whom praised the plot, the character of Moriarty, action scenes, production values, and the performances of Downey Jr., Law, and Harris. It was commercially successful, with a worldwide gross of over $545 million. A third film is set for release on December 22, 2021 with Downey and Law set to return.

The apple hits neutral acceleration as slow motion ends at 3:32. Sherlock catches it at 4:42 of interrupted fight. With ~9.8m/s² acceleration, in order for an apple to freefall for 10 seconds without hitting the ground, it would have to fall from a height of approximately ~490m, or approximately ~1,609ft. Funnily enough, they accidentally created perfect symbolism for this mistake, as the apple is the fruit that is falsely said to have fell upon Isaac Newton's head in the myth about his discovery of gravity.
