This movie make you realize how life is so short. Forest shows how to live your life to fullest.
  • I like the way Forrest honored his promise to his son not to read the letter. A small moment in the film that shows the respect he has for other people's feelings.

“I wish I could have been there.” ‘You were.’ Has to be the most beautifully poetic line in the movie. It showed how much Jenny meant to him that he kept her in his thoughts the entire time.

I always thought this movie showed no matter what Forrest went through, he was lovely to people. He never judged based on looks. He has the biggest heart in all of cinema
  • Jenny used to pray for God to make her into a bird so she could fly far, far away from her abusive childhood. The last thing you see as he leaves her grave is a flock of birds flying far, far away.

“ I couldn’t tell where heaven stopped and the earth began, it was so beautiful “ what a line
  • That moment at 01:32 where Jenny tells Forrest: "I love you." That is a HUGE step for her. Jenny learned as a child not to trust. That is the lesson that her father taught her through his abuse of her. She learned that she was not worthy of respect and love. To close herself off. Not to let anyone in. To run away when people came too close.. But now she has healed enough that she can trust. Healed enough to feel worthy to love and to be loved. Enough to say "I love you" and really mean it, without fear.
  • Cruelty of life. He wanted Jenny his whole life and only got her at the end of hers.

I always lose it when he says, "He's so smart, Jenny...."

"I wish I could have been there with you." "You were." Gets me every time.
  • You have no clue how many times it took me to watch this movie to truly realize what Jenny was doing and why. Forrest never gave up on Jenny, and he simply did what his momma told him. What’s amazing is that this scene truly shows the amount of feelings he had for Jenny. He lost Bubba, he lost his mother, but the amount of emotion he shows after losing Jenny is on a whole different world of love and compassion and I, as a grown man, will always tear up every time I watch this. Especially after he says “he’s so smart” and being a father of two, that hits really deep. I want my kids to be better than me.

"Bubba was my best good friend, and I know that ain't something you can find right around the corner".

The saddest most ironic thing about this scene is Jenny told Forrest he didn't know what love is, and in the end he showed that he knew what love was more than she ever did.
  • "I dont know if we have destiny or we are floating around or may be its happening at the same time". its one of the best line in movie all time. great movie, great acting and great characters

The man lost his mother, his best buddy, and his wife. He could have easily just packed it in and shot the bird to the world but he keeps pushing to be the best dad he can be. A wonderful film about the human spirit ❤

I love how he broke her childhood house. Best thing to do...

I swear they don’t make movies like this anymore. 😢

How could any person not shed at least a tear to this scene? I do every time.

Forrest Gump maybe wasn't very intelligent the way modern society sees it, but he's gotta be one of or the most emotionally intelligent character I've ever seen.
