CORRECTIONS AND ADDITIONS 1. Kalle beat sinsane2 the SAME DAY it was showcased by bocuma, same run as in the video 2. Sandman last ramp is removed in sinsane, as well as the bars in surf_royal 3. Sinsane may also have been based on another player, Insane, who achieved rank 1 as well. Insane recalls speaking with b0at about the map prior to its release. also check out this sideways completion by Maggi - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4NsSQy0Ik4

As someone who surfed on KSF over a decade ago, it blows my mind hearing you call some crazy sections relatively easy. The bar has been raised a crazy amount - I love to see it!

I Cannot believe I am stumbling across this video! Dude, well done. This is incredible. I am Jesuswashomeless. Your details are spot on! When I released that level, i had been done with competitive surfing for months and wasn't really interested in trying hard anymore. I KNEW that Legendary Level 7 was possible at the time I released it but didn't want to grind it out. I spent thousands of hours having an amazing time with so many of you. I apologize i won't remember you all, but seeing all the names people are mentioning is bringing back a flood of memories. Being able to watch videos 10+ years after all this took place is truly humbling. I'm honestly in shock. Idk who the guy is who made this video, but what an absolute legend.

that transition from legendary in sinsane to OG legendary was the smoothest shit i've ever seen.

There's a reason the saying goes: Michael Jordan is the Sinsa of Basketball. Great vid man.

Man, I gotta love your story telling style. Really makes it feel like I'm watching a movie of some ancient battle! Awesome work!
  • Kinda impressed with how you've found out so many details of the past -- especially finding footage of Jesuswashomeless's other surf_legendary stage 7 which he named surf_looksmodern, I used to have a video up of it that's not there anymore. For stage 7 he put it together and then didn't bother anymore since he was pretty much done with surf, we all thought it was impossible at the time but I grinded it for about 7hours (doesn't seem like much today) trying different technique's to get over the second wall and finally completed it. Same with Syria_again stage 8, was deemed impossible since it was made for 100tick. Grinded that trying different technique's, decided doing a 360 on to the last ramp gained the most speed, spent 8 hours clipping my little feet on the end hole not knowing if i'd ever actually make it.

I have been in awe of cs surf maps ever since I was younger and discovered some compilation videos on youtube. The smoothness of the motion combined with the lonely and sort of psychedelic nature of the maps has always captivated me. I tried my hand at surfing a few times but I probably don't have more than 5 or 6 hours in total. Over the years I come back to just watch videos of people running the maps. I always wonder who makes these awesome maps and how precisely they have to be tested and stuff to make sure they're even possible. I also really appreciate the artistry that goes into designing the atmosphere of the maps, as many of them feel totally unique, and some even remind me of places I have been to in my dreams. Anyways, thanks for this video, it's great to see a niche community be so insanely passionate. I will be watching :)

Ah, very nice nostalgia trip. I remember interviewing oldheads when I was trying to put together a video for the history of surf, in fear of it fizzling out and being forgotten. I'm ecstatic to see that the community is still thriving and producing content like this. Only ever got to top 350, crazy impressive to anyone still grinding today, super high skill ceiling! I remember having a conversation with Slyph about bezier splines for optimizing ramp pathing!
  • I love surf history videos so much rep. Keep it up. These are amazing.
  • @rileys.2975
I'll literally never forget beating Sinsane the first time, it took so many hours of grinding. One of my first T6's besides 666
  • @contrastOG
