  • You say no one watches these compared to your talking head videos. I just want you to know that they are still important and we appreciate the time and effort you put into making them.

I'm a systems and applications admin and this explanation of the osi layer is actually more useful/helpful then the way I learned it from a book.
  • Miss these classes, I'm always able to understand your lessons better than others

Just discovered Eli. It's actually hilarious how good Eli is at explaining concepts and then providing real world implementation compared to some of the people I've watched for comptia stuff.

Literally took a break from an actual Cisco training just to see Eli explain the information in his own way. Definitely appreciated as humor keeps you engaged with the actual information as well real life scenarios.

I missed these classes so much. It feels like it's been years. Thanks, Eli.

I've seen this model like any IT person a million times & this is indeed one of the most well explained I've ran across! I try teaching my children IT & I will def be sharing this. Thanks!!

You’re an awesome teacher. Currently studying for network+… I find your videos explain concepts better than my coursework.
  • Good lesson.👍 I remember watching your old OSI lesson video, a few years ago, and it was very informative. Good to see you made an updated one. Nice work. I really enjoyed watching this. It was very informative.👍

I resubbed because I saw you posting these videos again. Will be able to watch them later. I find it really easy to learn from your teaching style, and hope you continue making educational format videos.

About to take the Network+ and this was helpful well beyond the test and cert. Thanks for your time and unique style.

I've struggled for the past 2 weeks in understanding the OSI model. This video made it make sense. Thank you dude.

Hi Eli. I really like you doing a fresh reboot for these topics from the past. I enjoyed your classes on these things years ago and of course i follow the new versions too. Greatings from germany.

Glad to see you recovered from Covid, mate. You're sharp as a tack!! Man did I miss these videos!!
  • @randyrips
Thanks Eli! This is a very timely video for me since I’m studying for my AWS Solutions Architect exam.

Thank you, I came across your networking videos that are over a decade old, I am glad that you're making modern videos on the subject with all your experience. The osi model as a mentality , which also prevents overwork, which is prevalent in the Technology industry, is also a nice way to look at this video. a large part of troubleshooting is anticipation and knowledge, so it's nice to hear that 99.9% of problems(hard fails?) can be directed at 1 of 7 layers lol. unfortunate that you had to arrange a flight to plug in an ethernet cable, at least we have video-calling now!

Very informative video. Im currently reviewing for CCNA test and your new playlist for Networking really helps a lot. Thank you and more powers Eli.

Studying for a test I'm scheduled to take later today and of all the studying I've done your video was by far the easiest to understand. Watched this one, and your 13 year old one and they are just so easy and full of information that's actually useful. Wish I'd have found you sooner!
  • @DalePatch
Great refresher. Didn't realize I remembered as much of the model as I did. Definitely useful of isolating responsibilities.
