I have some complicated feelings on the Bad Batch Finale

I think I feel similarly. I found myself thinking, "oh, that's a nice way to wrap that up" about various things, but not really feeling that emotionally invested or fulfilled by it. It was a good way to end the show, but not a terribly memorable one I imagine
  • 3:34 To be fair, the show willingly fostered such speculation by purposefully (in my opinion) keeping CX-02's face hidden when it didn't have to, so we can't act surprised when people are disappointed with the lack of payoff. I also think their role as mirrors to the Batch would have felt stronger if they confronted each other more throughout the series.

A commando in Scorch's colours can be spotted in the wide shot in the scene where Tarkin is inspecting the remains of the base. Could be a mistake, could not be.
  • I don’t like the ending as an ending to a show during a time when Star Wars is building up to something big, it felt like it moved away from all of the interconnection that was built up and I’m definitely feeling like we missed out on stuff that could have happened in later seasons. That said, it was a great ending for this show as its own thing. It feels like a very nice ending that the bad batch earned for themselves, and Omega going on to go join the rebellion was a really nice touch. This was a good episode
  • This is gonna sound weird, but the finale seems like a great ending for the characters of the Bad Batch but a bad one for the show as a whole
  • Yeah, there was some stuff that could've been done better, but it could've been so much worse. I'm just glad that we got a definitive, concrete ending to the entire group. And while I don't see us never seeing adult Omega again, I like how we could never see these characters again and that being alright. Good episode overall, my opinion has changed from this morning because I woke up early and was a little grouchy. However, I am ready for the future. I need the next animated show to be big, galaxy spanning, high stakes, new territory.

I agree. I felt really lukewarm about the finale. I think this was a little too easy. I wish that the show was longer.
  • I like your conclusion about the CX Troopers, I think it puts them into a much better perspective. I do, however, think the show should've done more to set them up that way earlier, rather than reference them as being clone troopers essentially indoctrinated and turned into this- maybe if they'd just run them as a group of clone commandos, clones who were already a team before becoming the CX troopers, that could have played into the parallels without giving the audience weird expectations that missed their thematic point. Hell, Could've just made them Delta Squad and given all 4 of them roles in the plot to parallel the Batch. As for Rex- I feel like the show is trying to leave open room for a whole separate series set after this involving Rex, Echo, Emree and this clone rebellion of sorts, which I find rather unsatisfying. It feels like something that's deeply tied to this show's story being extracted and withheld to be its own thing when it makes the most sense as apart of the Batch's story. I dunno, I'm a little tired by the feeling that this show spent a bunch of its final season setting up at least 3 more plotlines (Ventress, Rex's rebellion, and Omega joing the main rebellion) that could easily be their own shows. A series ending with some setup or tie-ins to other stuff isn't a bad thing, but when it happens with a factor of 3:1, it feels like it takes away from the sense of conclusion of this series getting a definitive ending.
  • Rampart's death suited the character, but I can't help but feel a liitle disappointed as I really liked the idea of a scumbag like him being forced to help the good guys against their will.

The finale was OK. Given how many advertisement episodes and blatant red herrings, they could have done worse. But I'm getting really tired of their style of red herrings in the form of characters. Ahsoka was also bad about it, they promote and feature either suspiciously new or former characters (CX troopers, Marrok, Scorch, Ventress, etc) then do next to nothing with them. Sometimes, like in the case of Bad Batch themselves and now possibly Ventress, they are just adverts for coming shows. They 100% know what they are doing, these are not examples of fan over hype or theory trains. It's a tactic to draw in attention, foster debate in the forums, but then not really add anything new to the franchise except toys. Oh well, just lowers my expectations in the future.

I didnt realize it would be the final episode, it was no longer than any other episodes and it all happened so quickly, the show was really good but the ending just left me feeling like "that's it? that was the ending?" it just felt like it was cut short

This show was okay to pretty good. It was starting to feel a little repetitive with all the monster and extraction episodes so I’m happy it wrapped up well in just 3 seasons. Perfect length. My favorite part was the animation quality. I’m really looking forward to what Lucasfilm Animation has in store next.

I was really hoping Cx2 was Cody so we could have a definite conclusion to his story. It also fits a little with his legends version becoming an early darktrooper.

Multiple episodes about clone rebellions and m-counts and a big clone conspiracy, only for it all to be filler because there's no pay off to any of this in the finale.
  • @Arauto_Kagnos
I loved the finale, it left me in genuine tears. And it's rare for me to get this emotionally invested in a show.

Ask yourself: If this show didn't have amazing animation, then would you actually still watch it? . . . . Or would it end up like Star Wars Resistance where it was cancelled after 1 season.
