I'm guessing they got their new property tax bill and said, yep we're done! Chicago is in big trouble with budget deficits ,rampant crime and a cost of living crisis getting worse by the day.

People really aren't paying attention. Over 3,000 stores are closing in 2024. 2025 probably isn't going to get much better. That's on top of the ones that didn't survive the pandemic and the ones struggling to just stay afloat. Cities in America are falling apart, but the same policies and practices that got us here won't change.

I USE TO LOVE THAT PLACE I WENT ON A REGULAR THE FIRST FEW YEARS THEN THE WRONG CROWD STARTED COMING SO I STOPPED HAVEN'T BEEN IN YEARS NOW I THINK AMC WILL TAKE IT OVER

Gunshots ranged out inside of that Theater last year & their wondering why it's Closing. Usual Suspects SMH.

WOW, I just saw Bad Boys Ride Or Die there... Very nice theater and recliner seats. Sad to see it go.

The charging for parking, and letting in the riffraff... I loved it when it first opened.

This is a very sad way. Showplace icon was the best movie there we go to guess we’re gonna have to go to another movie theater around downtown
