R.I.P. Irene Cara. This song earned her the Grammy for best pop singer in 1984 and the Oscar for best original song as a lyricist. Magnificent ! I feel sad.
  • Irene sang two of the most iconic songs of the 80s. RIP Irene Cara ❤️
  • @Au60schild
Few people realize that Irene Cara made history by being the only songstress to perform two best songs nominated for an Oscar in 1980. What a feeling indeed!

  • A huge tribute & thank you to Irene Cara 🙌 for coming and giving us one of the best 80s songs to probably the best dance movie of the 80s. It wasn't just a feeling that you provided.. it was a whole movement !!! And certainly part of the soundtrack to my life. ❤ When I was lil and hearing your songs, I was even proud of carrying a very similar first name to yours. ☺ So now, I hope you travel well and light to your new destination, goddess. Thank you so much for coming and sharing your incredible amount of passion and your craft, delivering this incredibly believable musical masterpiece - amongst others. Rest in light, love. 🤍

I was born in 1979 and this film was part of my early child hood. Life was so much simpler then... women were much more beautiful...no one needed fillers and Botox...everyone aged beautifully... Sometimes I wish I am still raising my kids in the 80's ... when we had less but we had more...
