I Beat Riddler First In Batman: Arkham City

The opening line of this video is funny considering that the vast majority of Arkham players never 100% any of the Arkham games even once, let alone multiple times as a matter of routine.

I like to imagine Two Face got the worst luck of his life during those 2 hours and failed to kill Catwoman due to sheer cartoon logic bulshittery

"Master Bruce, Miss Kyle has been dangling upside down over a vat of acid for over half an hour at this point. Might you wish to hurry to the courthouse?" "Yeah yeah yeah, Alfred, I'm getting there. I just have another 38 of these Riddler trophies to pick up first."

TYGER guard: “All of our surveillance cameras are down, we’re blind here. I think Batman might’ve done something to them.” Hugo Strange: “What?! He’s been in the city for 30 MINUTES!”

The funny thing about this is that you can beat Riddler during Protocol Ten without playing New Game +, you can collect Catwoman trophies as Catwoman (and some of Batman's trophies as well) and those will be added to the count. You only need four hundred to beat Riddler.

I can't believe you can do 130 riddler trophies/challenges right before meeting Catwoman in the courthouse.

How humiliating for Eddie to get got so early on despite going out of his way to make 400 challenges for batman, only for batman to complete 150 before he even meets him.

Funny thing. The last trophy in the subway can't be collected at any point except after clayface. Even on NG+ Batman won't hack it.

This is probably the first time having a challenge be undefeatable feels rewarding as it shows how much effort they put into crafting the Riddler’s side quest since like you said, you don’t want oracle to call you up and say she’s found where the Riddler is while you’re dealing with protocol 10 as it would break the flow of the story. Plus, in addition, this means that no matter how you go about the side quest, what Batman says after you finish cat woman’s campaign is true. “There’s still more work to be done in Arkham city.”

A less strict version of this has actually been my preferred way of playing the Arkham games since the beginning. Solving challenges early gives tons of XP letting you get most of the upgrades much earlier, and it's also just plain satisfying to spread Riddler's humiliation across the whole game rather than just saving it for the end.

I do that for every Arkham game. It helps with getting more XP and I just love doing Riddler missions because the Riddler is one of my favourite characters in the Arkhamverse.

Imagine this was the plot of an episode of animated batman "Joker! Stop what you're doing while I do these menial tasks!"

I can just imagine riddler getting into Arkham city and like only 3 months later getting demolished by Batman 😭😭
