Even though you had music in this video, I had Commander Cody in head the whole time...My pappy said, "Son, you're gonna' drive me to drinkin' If you don't stop drivin' that Hot Rod Lincoln."

De-looming the wiring is a great choice of words describing the Lincoln’s wiring schematics. The previous owner was a genius. Now you get to deconstruct his creative madness. Amazing stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Incredible no stuck valves and no smoke out the pipe. Best description for those cars is smoother mover.

Looked like Doc from Back to the Future wired that thing LOL
  • Sounded really good, great job Matt, we all know you and the guys will make the BIG GIRL great again 👍

Hey Matt, this is amazing! You got the V-12 running! Purrs like a kitten, too! This is going to be an interesting project!
  • This was the first V-12 that I have heard running. Thank You for bringing us along.
  • Matt will you do a mechanical restoration and keep this awesome Lincoln. It will make a beautiful Custom

Incredible! Amazed that she fired up so effortlessly! Nicely done (amazed by your patience with all the spaghetti wiring)! Go Iron Trap, keep moving forward!

These are absolutely THE BEST days for a "gear head" !!! Getting rid of all the "Shade Tree" alterations that have accumulated on the antique equipment and it rewards you with a "Time Travel" moment to another time !!! I can't imagine trying this in 2095 with a 2010 Lincoln Continental when that car is 85 years old !!! First off, at least half the car would no longer by there @ age 85 due to all of the plastic "Push Pin" fasteners having long since deteriorated and died so lots of the "mechanical" pieces would be "fond memories". Took apart a 2017 Ford Escape "Eco-Boost" recently. After + seven tries, the mechanic is still trying to get it together so it doesn't show a "cam timing" code. Shafts with no keyways, plastic push pins everywhere, a 4 cylinder motor with a harness more complicated than a modern house. EVERYTHING you need to access is blocked by other "engineered" impediments to access !!! TOTAL GARBAGE !!!

It 's alive!! So cool. Love that dark green original paint. Look forward to more on this one.

I bet if you would have left it wired like Doc had it, when that baby hit 88 mph you would have seen some serious shit. I still think that Planter's peanut can is the OG Flux Capacitor.
  • Gave me a big smile. I'm pretty old, but several times, in my life, I have eliminated everything except what it took to run the engine. Great move and answers A LOT OF QUESTIONS.👍

Well , between the 39 & this 41 , you will never have to buy wire again , lol . I'm not surprised it started & ran with what you did to get it there . Looks better already . I'm glad you are taking it back to stock , & I'm sure that carb will work fine for what you are doing . The valves need some adjusting , but overall a solid win . That Diver's helmet distributor does not look service friendly ! Yikes ! Great job , Matt !

Great job Matt congrats on getting it running. 👍👍

FTW! Like you said, I thought the home made "high-riser" intake manifold would make twelve separate vacuum leaks. Sounds great!

love these 40s ford and Lincoln videos, I have so many memories as a kid working on these with my grandpa, whos been building hot rods out of them since the 80s.
