Hey Metatron! Great to see a reaction video from you. We surely remember your visit in our Studio, now we're in a new office, which is a bit bigger and nicer than the old one. And yes, Johanna Nowak is still our historical consultant. :)

Henry is great because he’s literally his actor.

    1) The devs have revealed, that lowering the visor will be optional and human controlled in KCD2. 2) Info about the combat system is pretty scarce, but the devs have revealed, that they will abandon the 5 directions system and replace it with a 4 directions system. They are a bit mysterious about it, but they did say, that it should be slightly easier to pick up, but promise, it will be as hard or harder to master than in the first game. One of the things mentioned for instance is slightly more benevolent timing for combos in the new game. 3) The protagonist a classic blank slate character, but Daniel Vávra is actually represented in the first game as he did body acting for sir Hanush. 4) The first one did have a Kickstarter campaign, but that was more to show that there is demand for that kind of game to acquire further funding, because their requests for funding were being denied because a medieval game with (little to) no fantasy elements was considered too risky by all the major players. Now they do have funding and there is no need for another Kickstarter campaign. The company now belongs to the Embracer group.

Metatron being happy and excited is such a cool change from his everyday grumpy and disappointed. Goes to show that when passionate people make products for other passionate people, beautiful things come to life. As rare as it may be.

Holy moly, Metatron is 42, which explains the weird bones craking sounds in the video...

Everybody is blown away by the fact that there were just 11 people working at Warhorse but Daniel Vávra unfortunately didn't explain it very well in the announcement. Warhorse started with 11 people but when the first KCD was finished they had around 150 people working on it. Also the first game wasn't really funded by the Kickstarter campaign. They just needed to convinced their investor that there's enough demand for a purely medieval historically accurate game and since the campaign was a huge hit the investor was satisfied and funded the development of the game. Warhorse were later sold to THQ Nordic. My cousin works in the company as a concept artist and the fact that they were sold didn't influence the company in any negative way apparently. So hopefully the second one will be great. I'm really hyped for it 🙂

Fun fact in the first game there's this engineer named Konrad Kyeser who builts a trebuchet to help with the siege and he says he has an idea for cannons you can hold but our commander says they don't have black powder around these parts. At least they gave a reason as to why there isn't any, but the crossbow is still a mystery

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is one of the best games ever made. I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel! Excited to see how Henry's story progresses.
  • One day, my friend and I visited an ancient castle in the Czech Republic. I don't remember the exact name, but something was connected with the word "Melnik". The castle had its own winery, and we all got drunk. The guide told us that the castle was returned to the previous owner, and now the duchess lives here. We all started looking for this duchess, it turned out to be an elderly woman who was drinking with us all the time. The whole group wanted to take a picture with her and asked her to put on jewelry and a crown, which, according to her, she did not have.😂
  • I am unsure about the buildings in KCD1 being smaller, but most of them are actually larger. They have a lot more space inside houses, stairs are a lot more spacious in the game, towers, ramparts, etc. I remember actually Vavra mentioning it that they know it is inaccurate, but when they made realistically small houses, staircases and so on, they had problem with the character being unable to move.
  • I really like the development between Henry and Hans in the first game. They begin as squabbling young men, pitted against eachother due to their differences in social class and all that. But as they spend more time together they go from master and servant to being really good buddies getting into all sorts of trouble together. I especially like how Hans goes from being an obnoxious fop to being revealed as a more sympathetic and generous guy too. It's just a good feat of writing and character development.
  • @Metatron we need to start a petition to get a character in the game of you maybe a npc by a smithing station that says stuff like - no no no thats not accurate it goes like this 😂

Not only is Metatron beautiful on the outside, but his humility illuminates his beauty from within, making it even more radiant.
  • @areon400
This makes me proud about being a Czech
  • Me and my wife love the KCD 1 and can't wait for the second part. This is one of the rare examples of game done right without any woke nonsense whatsoever.
  • @janecreek681
Sweet!!! The first one was so much fun. Hopefully the battles will be bigger. With sieges and everything.
  • @Urzoth
The confirmed information directly from Dan Vávra is that the visors of helmets will be possible to open and close freely without having to remove the helmet. However, the open space will be less protected.
  • Question about the engine. They're using a highly modified version of Cry Engine, so modified it might as well be it's own engine. Definitely not Unreal Engine though.
  • @martinsacha3229
The view of the helmet can be controlled whether it is folded down or not using a button. One of the creators of the game said so in an interview.
  • If KCD2 is set before 1419, I can predict what the developpers have in mind for a possible KCD3. Set it in Prague (logical increase in size over Kuttenberg) during the Hussite Wars.
