I found this sweet deal for only $2,200 locally and decided that it could use some TLC. The boat turned out amazing after it was done. The final cost of everything including the boat was $4,100. What do you think of this build?

Professional trucker here... That guy on the Honda riding mower backed up that trailered boat like a pro!
  • Where can I get a deal like this... Everyone near me is selling their tin boat with a 5 horse motor for 7 grand
  • @BAND-MAID-USA
A few things to note. 1. That paint on the motor looks like a factory paint job. Beautiful. 2. The LED lighting takes it to a luxury level and is very functional. 3. That thing ran and sounded like a dream when you were out in the water. 4. The drone footage and editing was perfect. 5. Please tell us how much money you put into repairs. And last but not least. The level of skill your buddy has with backing that thing out with a lawnmower was legendary. Like, extremely impressive. All around 10 outta 10 for the build and video. Instant subscribe and thumbs up.
  • I’m a Detailer in the Seattle area for over 15 years and I love how you guys are fixing up older boats for use because Fiberglass lasts so long and it’s a shame for boats to get neglected and then just destroyed after nobody wants to assume the responsibility of renewing. I only have one small thing I noticed. I understand it’s pretty simple to just paint it but you could have buffed it out and it’s brand new again plus the paint still needs some type of UV protection so it doesn’t powder up and disintegrate under the Sun ☀️. 🤔 I would have cut it out with a white pad and Meguires compounds including 2 coats of Cleaner Wax and 2 coats of Pure Wax. For the Topsides and for the Hull I would have done 2 or 3 coats of Cleaner Wax and after I would go with Teflon for 2 coats applied with an orbital for the extra penetration and saturation for long lasting protection. I would also use Metal wax for the T Top and rails so the salt comes off easily. 🙂 If I get a boat like this I would buff it out unless she would come out speckled from thin GelCoat. God Bless you guys you do great work! I appreciate how thorough you are. 😏🖖🏼🇺🇸

“It’s a Honda it would’ve started already” hell yea
  • @tomhman6441
The best boat related videos out there. No BS just showing how to get things done. Always look forward to the next one. Wellcraft are great boats too.

You need to wear a respirator whenever you're sanding, buffing or painting. Protect your lungs! Nice job on the boat!

When you were coming by the bridge, it looked familiar to me, even though I'm in NY... My grandparents lived on Treasure Island up until they passed in '12/'15... I used to fish under that bridge when I was a teenager (I'm 43 now). Got a lump in my throat when I made the connection (grandparents were my favorite people).

I love seeing older boats saved and restored it’s so satisfying!
  • @BLMann
I'm buying my first boat monday. It's a 20 footer from 2001. I plan on doing alot of this same stuff. Excellent video, thanks for sharing.

This is a beautiful channel. The sincerity of the Boat Guy, his craftsmanship, and diligence to film and edit...I thank you, Boat Guy.. so relaxing and fascinating. With stickers!
  • Dude this is one of my favorite rebuilds from you. Nice score for sure. I really appreciate how you show all the work it takes to make gems out of forgotten treasures. Keep em coming.
  • @hhubert1088
When the engine reved high on startup around 3:45 it sounded like a straight piped Ferrari f12
  • @codylujan
Well I don't want to say i'm jealous, but i'm jealous. That's a steal! Not every day you find a diamond in the rough like that
  • @swiftbear
This shows the difference in prices for in-landers / land dwellers, that boat in KY would have been 6k -7k w/ trailer here in the "as is" condition.
  • @johnwren3976
Great job! As someone whose rehab'd houses, cars, boats etc myself, I enjoy watching how thorough you are & how great they look finished. I've often used that boat ramp at Bay Pines.
  • @johnmiller8433
Eric - you and John do a great job! I know there is tons of stuff you guys do that doesn't make it onto camera. I hope one day to buy a boat from you because I know you will have put quality time into it. Every boat you get is 101% better that when you got it. I love watching you guys transform boats. Keep up the good work!
  • @grady.stu.8300
That's amazing, the difference after you painted it. The motor looks brand new. Nice job!
  • @ammoalamo6485
I applaud your creative content. My total boating experience is a short canoe trip, a day spent cruising a 30-acre lake in a rowboat, and one short ski boat adventure. I'm 69, and for various reasons I probably won't ever get in another boat. Yet I am fascinated by your videos. I love to see the boat come alive after some application of a little common sense, a sensible amount of money, and a lot of diligent effort. Great job.
