Bangladesh student unrest spirals up: Harsh Shringla explains why things went bad

Published 2024-07-19
Former Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla expressed concerns over the ongoing violent protests in Bangladesh against the quota system in government jobs, and said there is a reasonable amount of "unrest and instability." He further said that there is the possibility of radical elements, Pakistan's ISI and other interests inimical to Bangladesh, being involved in the protests, and the Sheikh Hasina government has to conduct their investigation into the matter. Speaking to ANI, Shringla said, "These demonstrations in Bangladesh, student protests have been going on for the last three, four days. They have taken a number of lives, and there has been a reasonable amount of unrest and instability...Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself has come into the public domain and addressed the citizens to put these matters in perspective, saying we are with you, we agree with what you are saying, but the matter is with the courts, and we will try and get the courts to convene as soon as possible to take a decision."

CORRECTION: Protest started During 2018 to remove Quota in Bangladesh, that time government quickly agree to remove 56% job allocation for ruling party favoring group, in July 2024 government secretly asked High court to establish the 56% Quota per Hasina’s low minister action. Students are now angry why sheikh Hasina calling student as collaborator and secretly putting 56% job allocation back in effect for her ruling party supporter .

Bangladesh is now NORTH KOREA 2. China supports North Korea for its own interest and India is doing the same for this undemocratic corrupt Hasisa Regime. This is a baseless analysis and supports this automatic corrupt regime. Please provide the correct news instead of misleading news, this is my urge for this news. India is the biggest democracy and I believe India supports democratic rights. I urge the Indian people and friends to support the aspirations of the general people of Bangladesh.
