Following Jesus is not the gospel. There are a number of things that are fruits of regeneration and fruits of the gospel that are not the gospel. Biblically speaking, the gospel has nothing to do with us whatsoever. The gospel is completely about the person and work of Jesus Christ, our substitute and mediator. Jon and Justin talk about the fruit of the gospel, the order of salvation, and justification from a confessional, reformed perspective.

Semper Reformanda: The guys talk about the legitimacy of using confessions and of critiquing the doctrine of notable figures. Then, they go into more depth on some of the ways justification is under assault in our day.

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
  • A channel that should have thousands more subscribed…. Great work being done here.
  • This makes me think of the thief on the cross. He had absolutely nothing to give but his faith in Christ.

Please pray for me. I keep fasting and praying for a break through. I’m a single mother with two children both are autistic, and non verbal so taking care of my boys are a lot of work. My husband died three years ago. Unfortunately. I’m all alone. I lost my job for declining the vaccine. I declined due to my pre existing health conditions (Lupus) and (heart disease) I was denied my religious/medical exemptions. I’ve been struggling to pay bills and keep food on the table since. I’m so ashamed of my situation. I’ve been mocked and laughed even accused of lying simply because I post comments asking for prayers. It hurts. I’m already so overwhelmed over my situation and to have christians be the ones that mocked me makes it hurt even more. My circumstances hasn’t been easy especially since I am all alone. I want to give up because I’m overwhelmed but my children need me and my faith in God is too strong to quit. I have faith God will change my situation and prove abundantly. Please keep me in your prayers.

Thank you so much, guys. Just a moment ago I had to graciously leave a neighbor's apt, because she wouldn't listen to the gospel, and she had her own gospel based on Jesus standing at the door and knocking.
  • Works that come from the heart are works that you LOVE to do. It's NOT PRESSURED. When you did evil works, was it difficult and pressured? No. You LOVED it. Indeed, you couldn't be held back. Couldn't stop.

Thanks guys for encouraging us weary pilgrams. And indeed, the wonderful doctrines of the Reform faith are being under assault daily. Even in our own church families. But Christ and him crucified for us we will scream from the rooftop:) By grace alone, though faith alone, in Christ alone are we justified, sanctifed, and glorified. To the praise and glory of His Name. Keep on the great work guys :)
  • I agree that following Jesus is not the gospel. The gospel is the good news about Jesus Christ. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus is the gospel. We are supposed to trust in Jesus for our salvation, not in our efforts to follow Jesus. However, this does not mean that following Jesus is unimportant. We are supposed to follow Jesus; it is supposed to be top priority.
  • Wow, I've been a ❤christian for about 4 yrs and I've struggled with these very concepts. Thank you 💕
  • You are so right that justification is under attack. I always see these guys say they saw hell and Christians are there and it messes with my head. They say they sinned their salvation away.

John 14 "If you love Me you will follow my commandments." It's ALL about LOVE, not works, works are just a natural biproduct of Love.

Absolutely! The importance and centrality of the gospel in the church and life of the Christian seems to be something almost foreign to pop-Christianity today.
  • Hey guys, thankyou for your awesome contribution to my life and the rest of the hearers here... I really could use some help if possible. Does anyone know where a 1689 federalist pastor/congregation is in the DFW? I live with my wife and 1 yr old daughter in Lake Worth, TX (10 or so miles from downtown Fort Worth, TX), and I can't seem to locate an orthodox/historical/credo baptist pastor and church decently close (I'm willing to drive). Any suggestions are welcome. Thankyou and keep rocking out, you guys have truly given me so much clarity and fresh water for the last year of my life, forever thankful and excited to continue growing in the Truth.
  • 40:20 offering your own interpretation is not the same as relying on what others have formulated for you in a confession.
  • @jeangreen432
Man's doctrines have nothing to do with Jesus Christ's commandment to love Him first and others as self...when you truly love someone you want to know them, to do all that you can for them to bring them joy, so that they feel your devotion and love. Jesus did that for us...we do that for Him<3
  • @tedprice5828
These are not works but a commitment of their very lives into HIS hands.

Final salvation has been accomplished in our glorification. His burden is light, because everything has been accomplished in him. We will return with him, because we are in heaven now, with him, because of his work. We followed Jesus to heaven, and there is no further we can follow him.

I've seen many hypocrites who claimed to believe in Jesus, thanks to once saved always saved heresy.
