In 9th grade, my English teacher told us to write about a sympathetic villain in media, and I chose to write about Ramses. He was a fascinating character to dissect and study, which does give me a personal attachment to his character.
  • So fun fact I learned overtime Drago's bloodcurdling battle cry is genuinely just what his voice actor would do to do vocal warm ups for the role, and the crew was both horrified but amazed so they kept them in.
  • The fact that every villain from Puss in Boots 2 made it to the top 10 just shows how incredible the movie is.

Kai is definitely the worst when compared to Tai Lung and Lord Shen, but putting him THAT low is absolutely criminal
  • I don’t think Kai is that bad as of a villain. He manages to be intimidating even with the funny moments he gets, and I consider that he has some of the best fight scenes in the series. Plus, I think people miss the point thinking that he’s supposed to be redeemable. His backstory is supposed to show his lust for power and pettiness, not make you sympathize with him.

I’m so glad that Eris got placed as high as she did. She’s so entertainingly evil and beautifully animated.
  • @15Anime4Ever15
I don't disagree that Fairy Godmother deserved #1, but there's something so goddamn funny about a comedic villain beating out three of the most serious and dark villains in Dreamworks' entire catalogue.
  • @jakedebruin2246
I actually felt for Ramses, sure he’s not innocent, but losing your son to a deadly spirit (even though I have no kids) is a depressing thought and I almost cried along with him. Also wasn’t his heart hardened, meaning god made it so that it would be less likely for him to let Moses’s people go? Maybe if he didn’t he’d listen and obey earlier…
  • @nemowindsor8724
Ah, and by the end, we’ve got some truly fantastic characters. When Dreamworks is on its game, they’re amazing. Titan/Tighten was ahead of his time…but also, sadly, timeless.
  • @Melody1x23
I think kai had strong potential, mostly wasted because of the film having badly timed jokes and being far less mature and meaningful than the first 2, but i think his backstory makes sense if you interpret it as him and oogway being warlords, but oogway had a change of heart and wanted to redeem himself after recieving selfless help from others
  • @zackrules4797
Another Fun Fact about the Colonel is that, he is voice by James Cromwell, who would later go on to voice Robert Callaghan in Big Hero 6.
  • @N-GinAndTonicTM
I genuinely forgot how much fun Dave was as a villain. John Malkovich is such an oddball casting choice, but his voice works so well it rides between being funny and creepy.

How is Kai a worse villain than Captain Shmeck. Kai was criminally low considering his incredible design, amazing voice acting by JK simons and how he perfectly mirriors the way po achieves his mastery of chi with kia taking it and po being given it by those he inspired. Pair that with an incredibly unique fighting style astetic and one of the greatest villain musical themes of all time I feel like you have a pretty great villian in my opinion. I do agree his back story is a bit weak as it is implied that Ogway was the one who had the change of heart not Kai but its really vage and quite generic making him easily the weakest in the trillogy but half the charters on the list have a way worse back story or no back story at all. Anyway just my opinoins Still an amazing video though loved it.

Glad that my two favorite DreamWorks villains (Death and Lord Shen) both got in the top five. For my own notes on them: Death is fun because he's not a villain in the traditional sense, but more a manifestation of Puss' fear for his last life. When he finally faces Death is the point that Puss proves that he's willing to face his mortality instead of running from it. If you think about it, Death kind of wins because the old, "gambles with his life" Puss is effectively "dead" and replaced by a new, better version of himself. "But that man's long gone now" is a very fitting line. As for Shen, what most fascinates me about him is his parallels with Po, especially at the end. Po finally defeats Shen when he moves on from the past and obtains inner peace. Unlike a lot of villains, in his final moments Shen doesn't scream out in terror or try to move out of the way as his cannon comes down on him... If anything, Shen actually looks calm in his last moments. In a way, death is the thing that finally brings Shen his own inner peace.  Also I just realized that both of my favorite DreamWorks villains have Death as their major theme (heck, white is the color of death in Chinese culture, which is why Shen being albino is so important to his theming)

I’m glad that Professor PoopyPants was ranked higher up than others
  • @adammartinez8061
I love how In the fairy godmothers picture(in the thumbnail), she’s the only one who doesn’t look menacing or have a villainous look while some of the villains like Mukunga or Drago in the thumbnail do…..well Hal’s picture doesn’t look menacing too actually as he’s just smiling.
  • @andresf.7563
I didn't even know there was a spirit remake, that right away hit me by surprise.
  • @dawnrays6161
Okay upon seeing the other Humpty Dumpty examples in CGI I think the Puss in Boots one is BY FAR the least creepy! To me he was actually well designed even BEFORE the other examples.
