  • Good stuff!!! Remember folks- true north and magnetic north ARE different, but if you live in the central midwest of the USA they are the same, straying east or west of there it will deviate anywhere from 10 to 30 degrees roughly between the two.

    Thanks for the video. I have basically the same kit as you but instead of the radio, I have a satellite communication device, Garmin InReach.
  • Land nav is something I really should learn. I keep pushing it down on the to do list, as I’ve never had to use it in real life, but then…it would suck to not know when you needed it.

    I have the basics pretty much down pat, but this is how you do it. Those pocket cards are a great tip! I didn't really know about pace beads either.

    That kit looks identical to mine, same UTM tool. Another place for laminated 7.5s is your local builder supply (for construction companies)
