"How can someone like him do this?" He is the main character dude

I love ippo. Outside the ring hes reserved, innocent, kind, respectful and polite. In the ring hes the same, but with a never say die attitude and a killer instinct

Boy do I miss the old series, it felt like you were learning some of the stuff alongside Ippo. I'm caught up with the manga and it's crazy how much he's improved. Went from "Yo I can do a proper jab" to "What does it mean to be stronk?"
  • 2:42 I love it. Ippo's like "omg I missed I'm such an idiot" meanwhile everyone else is like "that had the force of a Mac truck behind it, as soon as he learns to aim we're f**ked"

He's so different from the beginning. Went from "jabu jabu! :0" To "This is...the Dempsey Roll! In its final form! >:0"
  • Alright, I don't know about you guys, but I can fight now. C'mon! Put me in the ring! I'll show you what I can d- ambulance sirens

This is more.. in-depth than my actual coaching. Rasheed emphasized guard and movement.

I'm having my first ring fight. Boy, everything portrayed here is so accurate beside the exaggeration of course.

From a normal boy then to a jet engine, what a classic masterpiece

My favourite thing about the animation is the lines of action, they just show how hard is the build up for a move.

Alright that does it I’m going back and rewatching this anime for the 7th time
  • @DuckFace.
God damn it. Every time this gets recommended, I go watch the whole series again. What a legend anime.

The technique takamura describes for a cross is accurate, however ippo executes it wrong. You don't want to topple over like throwing a baseball; rather, you want to hit the target exactly when or shortly before your front foot touches the groun again.

When you get so powerful that when you punch air something breaks or someone get hurt.
