If you were offered unlimited power or instant gratification, but at the cost of making a deal with the Devil, would you?

Some interactions in Baldur's Gate 3 can only occur when specific characters interact. This video highlights a deal that is struck between Astarion and Raphael in Act 2. The resulting cutscene can only occur if you follow specific steps, and rest at the right time. Here is how to achieve this cutscene, as well as the cutscene itself. I hope you enjoy!

I don't know how anyone can miss these scenes. He's always there when you enter the temple of Shar.

Oh hells! Over 500 hours and I had NO idea that approaching Raphael with Astarion instead of Tav will lead to him actually talking on his own through the conversation instead! That's amazing, thank you so much for posting this! <3 An interesting tidbit: When Raphael says he was standing there, practicing "until it was perfect" he wasn't joking - you can see a line of a poem he says in this video before Astarion approaches him, and this is the full poem he dispenses slowly line by line if you just stand nearby and listen for a while: The lion stood watch in the blackest of night... While vultures encircled, preparing their rite. The huntsman and huntress, no match for the beast... Come dawn of new light, did the predators feast. ..No doubt thinking himself the predator. The gall, hah! Also, let me just say - I LOVE the way your Tav looks, he's such a hunk haha <3 Thank you for the video, such an amazing watch! Your voice, Raphael's and Astarion plus the relaxing music.. amaxing combo. Really well made video. (And also wanted to thank you for not picking the option that would lead Raphael to strip Astarion in LLI, it's hard watching that scene, even on someone else's playthrough.)
  • You don't have to bring Astarion to the Last Light Inn for this to happen. Approaching the mausoleum with him in the party is enough (also, I'm pretty sure I didn't use Astarion to initiate the conversation). The conversation itself was slightly different in my case. There was a hilarious moment with Raph casting a spell to remove Astarion's clothes to show his scars to everyone, saying something like 'You kept your clothes on all this time? This is so unlike you'😂 (I didn't romance him, so it was the very first time the subject of his scars was brought up). All these just prove how many nice variations the game has.

Fighting the orthon and his minions was truly crazy task, when I wanted to see their dialogue. No doubt, it was worth it.

I got this when I approached the mausoleum with Tav at the lead, though Astarion was in my party second to Tav (I think the party order and/or the order your recruited them matters in who usually has priority in cut scene interaction). I had also previously approached Raphael at the Last Light (as Tav with Astarion second again) when I first reached it and gotten the cut scene with him and Astarion asking for the deal (this after three romance triggered scenes, one where you see his scars and pass the roll to notice they are infernal after sleeping with him, then after when he is trying to read them without a mirror so you offer to draw them for him, then another where he proposes asking Raphael about them - I was supportive in all three). Also, I had Karlach in my party (cant remember if she was third or forth in the party, though not sure it mattered in this case), and she guessed what kind of devil you face, which if you know D&D devils gives another hint on what you face. I think Astarion does have more dialogue here though, when he approaches first. I also got the camp scene where Raph reveals the secret of the scars after completing the deal (I used the bard approach).

Aah i see. . I thought it will be different hehe i did trigger this before i just keep trying because my game for some reason always gives me the conversion with Astarion that i never bring him to made a deal with Raphael. It was between the patch 4 update so it messed up my game 😅 i always make sure to use him in this scene he said exactly the things i want to say anyway
  • I have a bug for which Raphael does not propose a deal. Even if I spoke with him before in the last inn, even if i start the conversation as Astarion. I played futher and not only Astarion never spoke about what happened like he was not there, but also Raphael never appeared after... i am super frustrated and dont know what to do..
