Monster Hunter World | GTX 1070 | i5-4670 | Bottleneck test, smooth 60 FPS?

60 FPS LOCK for lower CPU usage, custom settings shown in video for best performance+graphics when having a weak CPU with a strong GPU. Last map (forest) is just too hard for an i5-4670 to work in 60 FPS when carrying a 1070, but at least we can get 40~60 FPS.

It's completely playable, I was expecting a full time 100% CPU usage port that would obligate me to play at 30 FPS lock, but nope, other maps run smoothly 60 with very good visuals.
I will test again with a 4790k when I get one.

GRAPHICS TRANSLATION:
Scaling: High
Texture: Full
Ambient occ: High
Volume rendering: Variable (not much of a increase if turned off, cpu probably bottlenecks playing without using heavy-gpu settings).
Shadow: medium (you can use high if a 1070 user, GPU can handle it)
AA: Disabled (both AA sucks, you can use if you want)
LOD: High
Mesh load: no limit
Foliage physics: on
Subsurface: on
Reflections: on
Anisotropic filtering: High
Water reflection: on
SH Diffuse: Low
Dynamic: 32 bits
Z-prepass: Off (this kills CPU)

nvidia panel: VSYNC ON
Triple buffering: on
Maximum performance mode
// Do not ever use prerendered frames if you have a weak CPU

Settings: Intel core i5-4670 3.4GHz
Corsair Vengeance 2x8 GB 1600MHz (16GB)
GTX 1070 G1 GAMING GIGABYTE
H87-G43 MSI
Seagate ST1000DM003 1TB (190mb/s read - 120mb/s write, just reinstalled windows)

Thanks for uploading, got same specs on other brands and was curious how it would peform. Clearly we have some bottleneck but its undeniable smooth enough and playable for an old mid range cpu =).

  • My i5-4670K @4.0Ghz makes bottleneck to my GTX 1060, in some games at ultra settings...

How is youre GPU temp 60. I have 70-80 all the Time. Does youre GPU have 3 Fans?

What will happen with the same cpu and a 1080?
