I have a mortgage, I have bills to pay, so I'm not independently wealthy. My husband said take two months off, and the responsible Cheryl (that's me) is like, No way! No way! Can I just lay around and focus on myself, for that long! I'll take two weeks! And even though I felt and feel good about my decision and my prospects, despite the continuous stream of videos and articles stating how hard it is to find a job, I'm not really worried. I know this is my time for change. My job got me where I am today, and I'm so so grateful for it, but I went as high and as far as I could and it was going to soon become kill or be killed, in which I'd be doing myself and the company a huge disservice. So, I made the right decision: it's time to pivot, be my own boss, etc. But I'm only a week and a half into it, and I'm loving life- before I was a shell of a woman, pretending to be a man (I worked in construction and engineering- out of 9 managers, I was the only woman). And now I'm living my best feminine life.
