  • A little later posting this week but hope it's worth it. It was a complicated write and make but wanted to explain the chiefs sustainable onslaught of modern NFL Defenses, someone will work out a counter to this too - and we'll start all over again! Guess Mahomes Passing Touchdown Count this Season ⬇⬇⬇
  • Reid is a master play designer. Once teams eventually start copying the 1-4 tactic, the Chiefs will dip back into their endless well of plays for more coverage-busting magic. Many teams have gone away from the 2 deep shell against the Chiefs this season thinking Tyreek is gone and they could press man, but in the relatively short time Mahomes has been in the league he's learned how to beat any coverage with Reid's system and arguably the most capable WR room in his Chiefs tenure. You're always going to be wrong defending this offense, so your only chance is getting them to make mistakes.
  • That play against the Jags is pretty sad. The Jags dropped 8 into coverage, and the Chiefs only had 2 receivers running routes, and Kelce still came WIDE open.

The problem for other teams with the 1-4 is that they do not have (a) Mahomes and (b) Kelce. The Chiefs are also deep at TE and have competent journeymen WRs. And the Big Red cherry on top, is Reid devising variations of the formation. So, yes, other teams might try to copy this, but no recipe is complete without a master chef who knows how to use his ingredients.

Im so happy i came across this channel. After getting bored of basketball, you made me really interested in football
  • @truxhful
Mahomes reads those things in a heartbeat. He’s realized at this point that taking those first, quick reads will work. Mahomes football IQ is what makes him so great.
  • Mahomes runs around backfield until defense gets tired, defenders slow down, throws an 89-yard bomb to Kelce. Mahomes is the real deal. Everyone wretches in the collars of their jerseys. Mahomes is a legend and Reid is a mastermind.

Incredible video. I’ve watched it 3 times today. Subscribed.
  • This channel, along with the film studies the NFL posted, has thoroughly convinced a lanky videogame player that football is more strategic than many sports, with maybe water polo and Ultimate frisbee being up there. It's a real treat to dissect how a specific defense is handled by a specific play.
  • Not sure where this channels been all this time! This was probably the best breakdown/analysis I've seen on the tube. Been a football guy since HS could watch this stuff all day. Thats why I like watching anything from fcs to pro's. The difference in scheme/approach. Doing it all with just talent or mostly scheme. Why I love football you can win or lose many diff ways. This was very well put together so much so someone who doesn't get football could follow. Sub, well deserved.

Andy Reid tends to stick to a strategy until defenses figure out how to stop it (usually in the postseason)...
  • @range78
this video is the puzzle piece as to why they keep so many TE on the team. , just like in college, theyll be really useful in those 4-1 sets.
  • @Chrism7178
These concepts completely mask Mahomes inability to read defenses. The pre snap motions. The floods, and developing and coverging routes on from or to the same side of the field allow for mahomes to read one side of the field and read the receiver and space created by the concepts. Reid is a genius
  • Wow! This is impressive analysis. The rest of KC’s schedule should be a walk, but now that they’re establishing a run game there oughta be a few bangers come playoff time.
  • @matty2k.
Reid, mahomes and kelce are three of the smartest minds in football. It’s a blessing to be a chiefs fan right now. It won’t last forever… so I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.
  • @Tommy01_XO
As a a diehard fan, I can't get enough of content on my Chiefs like this, and this video was phenomenal! You've got yourself a new fan. Keep up the great work!
  • @stnbl1569
“They have no offensive weapons for mahomes!!!!” Never sleep on the chiefs lmao they always make it work
  • @WorkBundle
Kermit is an HOF QB with a matchup nightmare with Travis Kelce.
  • @jdelgado216
its true it is a copycapt league but not every team has the caliber of a Mahomes-Kelce combo, it will be really interesting watching the different adaptations
