He's right on with this diagnosis. Mine started out intermittently. It is there as a buffer when the seat safety opens. Your local deere stocks these. Also, a battery tender is cheaper than a battery, I use one, mostly in the winter. 2005 gx345.
  • Great video. I don’t get many deeres to work on down here. But I would love to try this out. Thanks bud.
  • Have to admire the over engineering on that engine, the mystery board with the red & green LEDs, the non intuitive no start fault from a bad shut down module, the insane cost of replacing almost any part of it, plus the engines habit of acting like a bug fogger every so often. Always enjoy watching your channel and thanks for the link to the cheaper TDM
  • @Big_Johns
Nice video BaldEagle, great info to have if I run across one of these. 👍
  • Good info.. I agree, suspect jump start takes the module OUT
  • I like your editing style baldeagle Deere must have asked NASA how they launch the space shuttle & then copied them to start a mower . Also, Deere troubleshooting schematic for the gx345 shows the negative of a booster being connected to the metal frame and not the negative of the dead battery ! There is no warning that connecting directly to a dead battery will damage components
  • @eosjoe565
If you suspect a surge is destroying the module, then it is likely one of the active components is getting damaged. Either the two transistors or one of the diodes. You can test the transistors and diodes with your multimeter.
  • @NY411Info
The problem with this module, is it is poorly built cheap Chinesium part contracted out by Deere and then they charge you outrageous for that junk. The board says Danlum Corp. on it. The outside case says nothing. How about just hook up a relay like a normal rider had. My guess is this is used to delay a short lift off the seat safety switch on bumps, where they used to kill the engine and backfire. If it wasn't potted there is about $1.50 worth of components soldered to that board. All replaceable by many DIY's out there.
  • What’s a common crank no start with the earlier model 345’s with the TDM?
  • @Salsy1776
I have JD 345, not sure the year but it has no spark. It doesnt have one of those tdm that I can see? I do have a black square box just off to the side of the starter motor and its mounted to the engine block with one screw? Is that the same thing or something else? Thanks in advance!
  • Jay the Florida pool pump motor repair guy. When Service Calls Longwood approved ! that was good info 2 see & know👨‍🔧good job !! Baldeagle242

I found the many pop ups to be very distracting. Not complaining but just giving feedback.
  • Hello. I've had a bad battery for a while, and have been using a huge battery module to jump-start it. Always worked, but I did experience occasional missing at high speed. Now, the engine won't start. I did replace the battery a month ago and everything was working fine. Until last week. It won't start. No Spark on either side. When ignition key is turned on, power does get to the Ignition delay module (through SE2 on the schematic) and power is sent to the solid state ignition module via the Org-Wht wire. So, I'm wondering if it's the Ignition delay module, or the solid state Ignition Module. I'm also going to see if power is getting to the Ignition coils. I don't know what else it could be, I guess It could be the pulser coils, but both malfunctioning at the same time would be a huge coincidence. The tractor is a JD 425, built in 1993. Kawasaki FD620D Engine. Any ideas??? :) The Ignition Module is expensive, but I do have a brand new delay module, which cost me $84 in Canada.
  • @Nicholas-yp3wc
Im about to completely build a new ignition system using Chinese atv partd. Its a cdi ignition so cant be to hard.
  • @MrShasta50
Have a jd 320 no spark. common problems with these ??? Fix?
