Yes guys, we're back with the World's Best Table Tennis Robot Forpheus at the Omron HQ in Japan in a behind the scenes clash!

This machine is absolutely mind boggling, and plays so well it’s almost human! This is the 5.2 version an update to the 5.0 that we played earlier this year!

It's amazing how well the artificial intelligence built into the Forpheus adapts to it's opponents and how quickly it is improving, especially against spin!

How long until this robot beats an Olympic Champion?!

I'm interested if two robots were to play against each other.
  • @MrSeanMDolan
I feel like he doesn’t try to hit hard forehand shots at all

Make two of these robots play against each other! Once they learn from each other they'll be unbeatable.
  • @wilkinru
You still didn't give it a real forehand or backhand loop.

I think it will solve most of the problems fairly quick. Don't forget, technology nowadays has a exponential rate of development and not linear😊 great content, thanks!!
  • Hi Dan, did not realize you had a second video with the robot, it is surely very impressive (especially when you use your own bat, geez), but of course technology may be better than humans, especially if you create an environment to become super-human. Ex: several cameras (so hiding or deception is no longer possible). But I believe that for *training (drills) purposes these will become great since they use the same ball to answer to your shot which is a more normal feel that just hit yet another super spinny one exactly on the same spot. I hope they keep improving so the next time we have a real robot standing playing like a God (now that would be scary !!!) *especially now during lockdown with COVID-19 --> thanks for the update and loved your final tournament, hahaha, crazy shots coming from the Chairman !!!
