Although we struggle to get the first few arches up on our Quonset Hut, we persevere and finally get a routine down. This is just one of the many steps we need to complete in order to have a fully enclosed and functioning off grid workshop in the future but we're relieved to have the process well underway!

We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure ๐Ÿ˜€

Thank you for watching and supporting our channel! ๐Ÿ’™

Oh Thank Goodness, a midweek visit from my favorite Alaska Couple! I must admit, Arielle & Eric, I was a bit nervous as you were raising those arches! You are amazing! Thanks for taking us with. ๐Ÿ’ž
  • @jgardner2508
Assembling that Arch is either a team building exercise or relationship killer! You are both doing great!
  • @LV12800
This was absolutely EPIC!!! From lifting the rental equipment with the tractor to getting those first arches up...to negotiating the logistics of how to build this ...to your celebratory salmon dinner...you had me glued every second. Your talents, stellar work ethic, and persistence are truly amazing and that's why this channel is so incredible. Truly awe inspiring! Can't wait for the next episode!!! โคโคโค

I love reading all these comments and I echo all of them. Do you ever feel like you have 1000โ€™s of sets of parents and family routing for you? All the love and support to your journey in Alaska!!!! Keep on keeping on you two!!!!
  • @2007KB
Oh my gosh you guys! I was holding my breath a few times! Your machines looked like a game of Jenga! This was buy far your toughest project! Way to hang in there, itโ€™s going to be an amazing shop! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Seriously, I have nothing but praise and admiration for the two of you. โค That is a LOT of work you've already got done, and you know there's still a tonne more to do and you're just focussing and getting it done. It's what is called a "hard slog" here, and you're both nailing it. Be proud. And wow! I keep saying it, but that is going to be such a great asset when done! Will be making your life and work easier in the long run. Finally - yay for first cook out there! May there be many, many more amazing meals created in that quanset. โค

Absolutely astounding! I canโ€™t believe how much you two can accomplish! Not just the Quonset hut but the video - 10k likes in 3 hours.

Over thinking, my friend didn't have a fork lift to get a piece of heavy equipment off his trailer. So I showed him a trick with shovels, blocks, wood and imagination. We found solid ground backed trailer up to a flat slab, marked where the trailer wheels where, pulled the trailer straight forward. Then we dug out where the wheels were about 4 to 6 inches in a slope. Backed the trailer into those sloped trailer ground ramps. Trailer was still to high but that was a problem because we disconnected trailer and jacked the tongue up and braced the trailer front corners. This allowed us to drive off the trailer right on to the slab. It worked so good, my friend decided to make permanent miniature loading concrete step down loading dock. Yes it takes time but that time has given him many many easy trailer loading and unloading experiences. He can easily roll anything on and off trailer with no ramps, no trailer tipping because the trailer when jacked 1 to 2 inches on tongue the rear of the trailer sits on a 6 inch concrete ledge at the perfect height. Now he can use a pallet jack, castors, drive on or off, winch on, pull off pretty much anything. Hope this inspires people to make their own custom trailer docks for their shops.๐Ÿ‘

I feel like I know your working style: unafraid to start new and difficult projectsโ€”relentless in your adjustments for efficiency and quality. Bravo!
  • @cjbotkin1
I've never seen a quonset build. Amazing. You guys are going to love this shop especially when you get heat in the floor. Amazing job!!! Proud of you.
  • @william6526
There's an old saying that I'd rather be lucky then skilled. You guys are both,it takes a lot of thinking outside the box to be able to construct a building of this size. I've got to be honest on the first two frames I just knew it was going to end in a disaster and I was praying you guys wouldn't get hurt when it all came down. You definitely proved this old man wrong. As a fellow Oregonian I can say you are doing us proud with your full speed ahead man the torpedoes additude. God bless ,stay safe and good luck with finishing the build before the bad weather shows up.
  • @futurekron
What I love about this, is that you 2 went from doing concrete on a really small slab for your old house stove, and then moved up slowly, but didn't let the "size" or "complexity" of the situation deter you. Here you are, constructing what is essentially the Empire State Building for the "homestead". Good job. There was a point there where I would have said, "I give up", but you pushed forward. Amazing.
  • @jermsMRE
Been watching you guys for a long time. Absolutely love your channel!! Great to see the new place coming along! What a huge job with that quonset!!
  • @Johnnymac66
You two, no matter the route you take, are like a mega-brain of figuring out and implementing a plan out of nothing. Thank you for inspiring me! ๐Ÿ˜Š
  • @jmacp19
I watched another channel where they put one of these buildings up, using at least as much equipment and like 7 people and they still struggled- needless to say that it was pretty impressive to watch the 2 of you tackle this project on your own!!
  • @YaiYai73
Massive respect to you both for not only managing this ambitious build but also for the fantastic edit throughout! Can't imagine filming and building and then having to relive it for the edit lol! Great job!
  • @contactsuzi7096
I confess that I poured myself a gin and tonic at the second arch, it was so scary to watch. I am absolutely gobsmacked that just two people could get this build done. It's such a big building. And two thirds of the way, you cook a delicious salmon dinner! Rockin Alaska. Much love. Suzi
  • Iโ€™m holding my breath watching this. I was thinking how are they going to do this with just the two of you. But you did it, whew ๐Ÿ˜ฐ. Good that Arielle is not afraid of height. You two are the best. You finish all your projects like youโ€™ve been doing it your whole life. Thank goodness the Quonset is up. Could hardly wait for your next projectโ€ฆ
  • @icybar
Incredible work, I cannot believe or understand how just the two of you manage to achieve so much. And from the viewerโ€™s point of view, every minute is enthralling. So clever too, to intersperse those flora and fauna snatches - it just lightened the stress moments for me! Wonderful.
  • @judithpittman510
Wow, I was mesmerized by the sheer determination, creative solutions and indefatigable hard work. I love watching your projectsโ€” great channel!!
