55-69 years ago my parents had a lake home, it was fun 🤭 to watch the turtles all line up on a fallen tree in the lake, one weekend they came home with a bucket full of sand a 🐢 turtle eggs, we just left it in the garage and occasionally checked the bucket, until one day there were baby's😲, that weekend they made the trip back to the lake. Fun times. 🐢
  • Gemma and Earl are living their best lives, swimming in the creek, and turtle hunting 😂!

Good luck on the turtle eggs you rescued from disaster. Hope you caught 'em in time. Bath time for Bear, Earl, Gemma. I'm sure the creek has an oil slick after Bear's bath. Bella would be pleased. God bless you folks and may the summer be filled with plenty of creek adventures.

I didn't realize how close the pastures were to the creek until Charlie came by.

Holding back tears. My extended family was in Oklahoma, which is where I lived in my earliest years. Dad brought us 11 snapping turtle eggs someone gave him. When they hatched they gave our pan-full of tiger salamanders no rest. My brother and I were so little Dad and an uncle could carry us downstairs from Grandma's upstairs bedroom while it was still dark. They packed us in a car and we'd all go to Uncle Art's farm in the Osage hills to fish his pond before dawn, gig frogs, and generally have amazing adventures with Grandpa, Dad and Mom, various uncles while Grandma got things ready for the fried feast when we got home. My brother and I had our own little Zebcos and caught many a bluegill, crappie, bass and occasional catfish - my favorite to eat. The hot frog legs were great but Dad didn't like hurting the frogs with the gig so that was one time only. We had the best time fishing not only at Uncle Art's, but Montauk, varies creeks, dams and even in Mexico. Only mother is still living - the rest are in heaven now. You just let me relive some of my favorite memories with my Dad and brother, whether fishing, catching crawdads, or catching turtles. Such precious memories. Bless you, Daniel, and your family and community. God keep you all safe to the end. Amen.

Earl is having a good time. Your videos are so relaxing. I love the sounds of the water running in the creek.
  • It seizes to amaze me what awesome parents you and DeJay are to your kids. Making such good memories to be passed on down thru the family. A lot of boys and girls aren’t as fortunate as Weston, Emmalee and Houston. You’re doing a wonderful job. You have worked terrible hard to get what you have. I admire you and DeJay. Love to all❤️

60 to 90 days for soft shell turtles depending on the species. Great find. God’s blessings

Earl is enjoying his daily aerobic exercise at the creek. He doesn't seem to care that you're trying to fish.
