Mozaico Flamenco: Maria Avila sings "La Arena", Rumba on Spanish Banks

Maria Avila is a Mexican-Canadian flamenco artist that both sings and dances and is a well-known performer and cuadro artist in the city of Vancouver, BC, Canada. She regularly performs with guitarist, Peter Mole, and in a trio with Michelle Harding called Calle Verde.

Mozaico Flamenco is documenting traditional Cuadro repetoire in our Pop Up Series on this youtube channel. A Cuadro is a flamenco group that includes flamenco dancers, singer, guitarist and palmas handclapping. Vancouver has a long history of restaurant flamenco showcasing cuadro flamenco and this program documents some traditional repetoire that we performed in the scene pre-pandemic times.
