"June" you know what time it is? That's right! It's the 1st of the month and we're back with another monthly drum and bass mix! Welcome back all π
May 2024's mix really kicked off in an unexpected way and I'm grateful to you drum & bass heads who came along for the ride and enjoyed the beats! We're over 500 strong now and I'm motivated more than ever to keep the mixes coming, we all need a bit of liquid to get us through π
This month, we start with soulful sounds from Sektor, Subsequent, Hiraeth & Rienk, Technimatic and Djah before we get a little bit naughty with FD's filth π¦
After that, we join Sonic at the speed disco, Contour at the flipside skatepark and Amaning in the sewing room, who features again in a mix but only once this time around vs 4 in May π
Then one of my favourite producers, Silence Groove, takes us through the Autumn Plains before yours truly features! It was pretty cool to mix Dreamer into June's mix, the track can be downloaded on my Bandcamp page π
DJ Marky, XRS and Three20 bring us the chilled and summery vibes over the next couple of tracks βοΈ
Following that, we then hop into the TARDIS to go back in time to the mid to late 2000s, which is when I found a lot of my favourite tracks, with tunes from Cyantific, London Elektricity, Marcus Intalex (RIP), Q-Project and then finishing it all up with SKC & Bratwa πͺ
I'm never sure to call these tunes liquid dnb or some other sub-genre of Dnb, the tunes I mix are more melodic which to me, is liquid but if you're a genre connoisseur, let me know and will give it the right name for next timeπ
Regular listeners know the drill but if you're new to the channel, firstly, welcome! I feature a host of tunes over the last 20 years that have lifted my soul or provided a comforting outlet for the bad times. It's always exciting to mix the older tunes in with the newer ones and see how the vibes and sound production techniques have evolved π
I often tune in to other DJs mixes/playlists on YouTube and hear tracks I like, on top of "the Spotify" and then buy the tunes for these mixes. So you may have heard some of them before if you float around the same circles as I do! Always good to support the artists in any case π
I hope the mix helps you through the month and don't forget to show some love to the dnb producers who made these tracks π

Excellent work as ever. Lots of my mates are big house heads, so we all piled in for Sasha + Digweed's London show in Oct. Your Dreamer tune made me think "if Sasha did DnB..." high praise indeed, wicked tune. Love FD too :elbowcough:π
