Ham Radio QRP QSO with JS8Call & Icom IC-705

Published 2024-03-09
QRP JS8Call Ham Radio QSO with an Icom IC-705 running at 10 watts. I was recording cls for another video project, when GW4OZU came in on 20 meters. I was already running the camera gear, so I sent him a shout back.
The video is kind of chillaxing or boring (your perspective). However, it does show the power and capabilities of JS8Call fr low power HF communications.

JS8Call is interesting and I believe one of its best features is APRS. I need to work out how to beacon with location to make this work. Nice QSO and shack tour it was nice.

I found it amusing "only at 10 watts"; I seldom exceed 10 watts on my Flex 6400. Since I primarily engage in digital modes, I frequently operate at QRP (low power) levels.
