What if Back to the Future used Papa Loves Mambo instead of Mr. Sandman

If you watch the Back to the Future DVD with the audio commentary, they mention that they originally intended to use Papa Loves Mambo for this scene but ended up using Mr. Sandman instead. With the help of a vinyl record and the iMovie app, I was able to see (and hear) roughly how it would look (and sound). It seems to fit pretty well! Admittedly my video is not perfect. I eliminated all other movie audio while the song was playing and I couldn’t get the fade out to be perfectly in line with the clock tower striking. Still, it’s a rough idea of how well it might have worked. YouTube is to blame for the poor audio quality. Their audio compression is terrible.

    Actually, Papa Loves Mambo is played in BTTF2 as a song from the radio of Biff’s car… Of course, Mr. Sandman sounds better for this current scene…
