I watched this with my dad just over 20 years ago on a special trip. It just happened to be playing in the hotel room. My father passed away from covid last November. Coincidentally, I'm just now getting into ham radio and this movie, which I haven't seen since that night, pops into my head. I want to watch it again but I don't want my wife and kids seeing me balling like a little baby. I miss him so much. He was my best friend.

One of the BEST underrated movies ever made!
  • Love this movie. Anybody who really has/had a father like this, and that kind of relationship with them is so blessed.
  • What’s amazing is the killer (Jack) is dead in 1999. But survives because Julia, the mother who is a nurse, catches a doctor from giving him an extra dosage that killed him. Julia only catches him because the father Frank unexpectedly comes to her at work. Frank originally dies in the fire and calls her because the son Chief tells him to go the other way. Jack the villain wakes up and sees Julia, who he kills and don’t kill. Amazing plots in this movie.

My dad used to talk on a big base cb radio when he was younger of course I still talk on one today. He passed in Jan of 2018. I'd give anything to be able to talk to my dad again even if it was on the radio. Great movie! Cry everytime I watch it. Love and miss you Dad!

2000 and 2001 were the last years of magic movies like this. Then after 9/11 everything got dark and cynical.
