Overcoming Suicide - Brad Gartland | EP1

Published 2021-06-09
Well well well… We finally made it.

Welcome to the Walk & Talk Series, Season 1, Episode 1. Today’s episode features Co-Founder Brad Gartland, led by Founder Daniel Wilsher.
Brad gives a deep insight into his journey through suicide, self-harm, depression & anxiety, through to his recovery and becoming a true leader for men’s mental health, and a true inspiration to everyone who knows him.
This conversation is raw, open, and honest and at points it is difficult. But it’s also incredibly powerful and moving as Brad explains not only how he overcame his dad’s suicide, but how he supports himself, his family and friends, and his community with their mental health.
I hope afterwards you are able to understand just how amazing he is.
A few key points to take:
- Your darkest days become the foundation for the rest of your life
- You are not alone
- There is always help out there
A big thank you to the production team on this one:
Andrew Johnson (Lead Videographer)
Laura Prada & Jamie Morling (Videographers)
Daniel Wilsher (Music Production)

Thank you for taking the time and putting in the effort to normalise these kinds of conversations. I find this really inspiring and I cannot wait to see future episodes.
  • Amazing, now watched both episodes. Help me grown in supporting younger male learners
  • Great first episode - looking forward to the rest of the series! Thank you Brad for sharing your story and giving us insight into how you’ve dealt with such a difficult time and challenging situations, the circle of influence is a powerful thing, people often focus on factors outside of their control instead of looking at the things they can do and can control to have a positive impact on their mental well-being and this is something that resonated with me massively! Keep doing what you’re doing, it is making a difference.
