A "Second" is a person who helps the chess player to train, prepare for opening, etc. He can be considered a Trainer or Sparing Partner.

She took some weird aggressive lines but some good prep meant that Ian easily refuted them. I feel like Ian was +3.4 when the interviewer resigned.

She shouldn’t have given up. She should have followed up with “do you like pinapple on pizza?”

This was like when you try all your keys to open your front door only to find out you're at the wrong number.

"Why would you ask this" is such an awesome response

You know it's a great interview when you genuinely can't tell whether the interviewer and interviewee were running with some sort of inside joke, or whether they're just so awkward together it feels like a parody of an interview.

"You wanna take this outside?" would also have been acceptable. Love these two!
  • @ordinarryalien
Belenkaya tried "Have you ever fired a second?" gambit, but Nepo had prepared lines for it.

It seems like every question is like a chess puzzle for him and he tries to find the perfect move in the shortest amount of time

Next question would have been: "Have you ever heard the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the wise?"
