  • What's your favorite plant? :_TetraPLANTBOI: (You can't pick Wall-Nut 'cause it's No Nut November :_Tetra200IQ:)
  • Fun fact not covered! In the Bloom and Doom beta, there's a Bassline in the Grasswalk Horde that's exclusive to that beta. It's not present in both the OST version or the In-game version! Alongside that, the beta has an unused intro song cue that plays as well.

The zombie children actually fits perfectly with the first games goofy but strangely gloomy style. None of the later games has that spesific feel to them, they follow the more comedic and cartoony path.
  • @KeebeThePlush
The fact that old titles are used as Easter eggs now are incredible
  • The “double jump” alien could’ve been turned into the ladder zombie because it can go over a tall nut
  • @jacobthefunny
who knew there’d be so much unused stuff about a game where you kill zombies with military plants…
  • @DamageMaximo
3:07 The reason why the antagonists were planned to be aliens, is because Plants vs Zombies was originally going to be an Insaniquarium sequel, but slowly turned into the Plants vs Zombies we know today
  • @Fantasygod930
I find it pretty cool interesting to see unused content and something that developers thought they deleted or something from the game but still in the game you just can't access it normally it's pretty cool and it gets a sneak peek into the development of a game and might have some leftover features to play with even if they're not in a complete state

At 2:55, that multiplayer mode (or at least something similar) was featured in the DS version. One player controls plants and has to shoot targets at the back of the screen, and one player controls the zombies. They each have their own kind of sun to collect

I honestly think PVZ has one of the most interesting game developments, there are so many cool concepts and ideas, and I've always loved this franchise for how creative it is. glad you covered this!
  • I think it’s cool that originally, the zombies would have outfits that relate to why they’re wearing protection (cones, buckets etc)
  • @casualamber
this game is still my childhood! glad to see what could have been
  • @CrimKing161
6:54 Fun fact, the ending notes actually transition pretty well into Korn's 'Freak on a Leash'
  • I am so hyped to see unused Plants and Zombies! As a huge PvZ nerd this just warms my heart, and I NEED to list all who appeared in later games: First, about the other enemy types. George Fan stated in multiple interviews that they first had the tower defense mechanics planned with the plants, but couldn't decide on an enemy. They wanted to change something slow, and the final decision was zombies because they were just booming at the early 2000s. 1:59 Carrots and Beetroot both got added in PvZ 2. In the same world even, Neon Mixtape Tour. Onions appeared in the Ice Age. There are multiple iterations of these veggies in later games like Heroes and Garden Warfare. 2:34 Multiple peapod-looking Peashooters made their way in PvZ 2. Also the Peashooter in garden Warfare has Peapods as arms. 4:30 I think many of these unused zombies give a vibe of Garden Warfare and also the card game Heroes. The zombie monkey appeared in PvZ 2 and also as a costume in Battle for Neighborville. 4:48 These t h i c c Zombies' body shape for me looks kinda similar to the Cardio Zombie in PvZ2 and some Zombie classes in Garden Warfare. 19:10 The snow level, of course, appeared in PvZ2 being the Ice Age. ALso, the quote "Bloom and Doom" was said in many later PvZ games. For example, the card game PvZ Heroes was adverticed as "A battle between bloom and doom".
  • From what I saw from other videos, Zen Garden is actually a 6-Seed Packet minigame. You choose your seeds but your seed packet upgrades don't apply. The mechanic of the level is that you play in the Zen Garden, and you get to move your plants around with the Gardening Glove. Imagine Minecarts in Pvz2 Wild West but different
  • I think the double jumper might have been able to jump over tall nuts or it got turned into the pogo zombie.
  • @eliana68
I'm so glad you're showcasing PvZ, it's one of my favorite game in the whole world!
  • @Sonikks
I watched your first video on PvZ last week and have been playing it nonstop since in downtime. Holding you responsible!
  • @MysticMike
@9:15 That whole pick a deck of card and then random other cards show up makes me think of Mega Man Battle Network card mechanic.
  • @a_9196
17:13 I remember there being a mini game one the DS version of pvz where the level would randomy change the fire rate of the pea shooters you were given as the it got less/more sunny. And I think the level was called sunny day. (I remember everything else except the name lol)
