I clear my garage out every summer and have it power washed and cleaned. Able to hire someone very reasonably and it forces a deep declutter as the date approaches. We keep very little in the garage due to road dirt from the car & mice droppings. Ewww. I like keeping my car inside 😌 a clean garage.

Amazing! When my hubby got to his garage, it was such a relief for him when it was done. Everything has a spot and there was no more stress! I bet Andy feels the same!

Huge effort - well done! I must admit the most satisfying step for me is when like goes with like - the items are so much easier to grab and therefore to use - if you have to spend a half hour trying to find the knee pads - or you sort of know that you will have to - then it's just easier not to even suggest skateboarding. Or the tool chest - where you just want to nip down quickly with the five minutes you have to grab what you need to repair the small thing you noticed in the house - but you know you have a mountain of boxes between you and the item - it's easier to think ' next time '. I love to see a space fully useable and ready to go for whatever the day may bring! Perhaps ask Erica to do up labels to go onto your discrete totes - that always helps items go back to the right area.

Good video! My dad (over 40 years ago) used to do that with baby food jars. He put various screws, etc. in them. I thought he was a genius!

I loved how easily it seemed that Andy picked up the camera and filmed his own decluttering. The garage looks amazing. It is so easy for them to become the catch-all place. Mine is like that right now. I was hoping my husband would do some decluttering when he was home in June, but he didn't. I have my own decluttering to do in there, but it is too hot here in Central Utah to spend it in the garage.

You both did such an amazing job. It’s so great storing like items together, and it’s amazing to think that you’re teaching your kids the joys of organization by example.

All I can think about is the movie stepbrothers for the scene “ so much space for activities” when Andy has all that room up in the front now. Way to go. Stealing the idea of the bin with the camping chairs inside: genius !!!
