Ya le compartí a mi hija de 13 años que es fan de los BTS y ama la cultura de Korea del Sur y su sueño es ir a vivir para allá. No quiero desalentarla, solo que comprenda que es una sociedad con una mentalidad muy diferente donde valoran mucho la imagen.

Yo vivi dos años en Corea del Sur y tuve que regresar a mi país porque me enfermé de depresión y ansiedad, ir de turista es una cosa pero cuando vives allá intentando construir tu vida es algo totalmente diferente, igual le tengo un cariño enorme a Corea y gracias a esa experiencia que casi me hace acabar con mi vida hoy en día soy un hombre más fuerte :)

Viví en corea del sur y me case. Siendo latina jamas pude adaptarme a sus costumbres son buenas personas pero muy estructurada y tienen mucho prejuicio sobre el color de piel, peso, altura, etc. Las mujeres cuidan mucho su piel. Tienen que ser blancas y delgadas. Cuánto más blanca y flaca mejor. En mí caso particular siempre me han mirando mucho por ser diferente. Con respecto al trabajo. Los coreanos trabajan muchoooo y inclusive deben mantenerse siempre prolijos y elegantes. Mí esposo es coreano y trabaja en oficinas siempre con traje y corbata. Agradezco a Dios esrsr viviendo en otro país y criar a mis hijos con mis tradiciones y costumbres bien latina, súper sociables, divertidos y libres de prejuicios.

Corea y Japón son dos de los mejores países que he viajado pero una de las conclusiones que saqué en contra es que no viviría ni loco en ninguno de los dos.

Que importante mostrar esta verdad cruda... muchisimos jovencitos viendo solo lo que mas promocionan SUEÑAN con ir a vivir o visitar Korea del Sur... y sabiendo esta realidad de su sociedad lo que menos tendrian es que fomentar alimentar esa fantasia... Viví 3 años en Corea, allí conocí a mi esposo (no es coreano) y por eso y los maravillosos amigos que hice (ninguno coreano) le estoy muy agradecida, es un país que me hizo crecer mucho y ver la mejor y peor versión de mí, pues allí viví la peor depresión de mi vida, sin embargo, antes renegaba todo lo que mencionan tú y la chica del video, ahora procuro ver lo bonito y recordar lo bueno; es un país seguro pero no para las mujeres, sufrí mucho acoso incluso hace 11 años que fue mi primera visita, un hombre que estaba solo conmigo en el elevador en la estación de trenes de Seúl trató de tocarme los pechos y como grité, salió corriendo y gritaba en inglés lo que me quiso hacer, había policías frente de mí y muchísima gente y NADIE hizo nada, solo me miraron y se fueron, a plena luz del día. Era mi primer día en Seúl. Y ese mismo día ya en Busan un hombre trató de llevarme a la fuerza con él que porque le parecía muy guapa. Eran las 4pm, yo vestía una playera larga, pantalones de mezclilla, sin maquillaje y esperaba a la gente que iba a pasar por mí. Cuando regresé al país, muchos hombres (no solo coreanos, también lo que muchos dicen son uzbekos pero en mi experiencia, quienes más me acosaron fueron coreanos) me siguieron y acosaban en la calle, uno en una ocasión orinó frente a mí al otro lado de la acera observándome, literal se bajó los pantalones. Me seguían y se quedaban horas viéndome a través del vidrio cuando iba a un café (me paso 3 veces), en la calle, metro, etc., ni se diga. Era un acoso horrible que nos tocaba a las extranjeras. Cuando empecé a salir con mi ahora esposo, prácticamente no iba a ningún lado si no estaba acompañada y solo así me sentí segura. Vengo de Latinoamérica y todos sabemos que somos países difíciles y con muchos peligros pero había ocasiones en que pensaba que nunca me habían humillado, sobajado, acosado, etc. como en Corea. Es hermoso en muchos sentidos pero también tiene demasiados errores y faltas. Siempre he dicho que no es un país para emigrar, no es amigable con los extranjeros y menos con oportunidades al largo plazo. No es lo mismo irte unos días, un par de meses a hacer tu vida allí, siempre vas a ser menos como extranjero y peor aún, mujer extranjera, tristemente.

Yo he pillado a varios grupos en twitter de gente que ni viven allá y que en parte les afecta ciertas cosas, que aman la cultura coreana, que idolatran su cultura y la delgadez casi extrema de los idol usándolos como referencia para hacer competiciones en cuánto a como deben estar y cuánto pesar. En su mayoría he notado que son adolescentes y tienen serios problemas alimenticios, se cuentan tips de todo en cuanto a sus atracones y ya no es necesario más detalle... pero me llamó mucha la atención en como siguen las dietas de los idols para estar en un peso super bajo, además suben fotos de las chicas cuando se les marcan las costillas como referencia y uff es todo un cuento bien retorcido en como se meten en eso y no hay quien los saque, por ahí hasta me tocó leer "prefiero morir como x idol (el cual ni yo recuerdo el nombre) a morir gorda", además de tomar fotos de cualquier persona en sobrepeso y ponerle comentarios full ofensivos y luego comentar que quieren estar como tal idol el cual es muy delgado y blanco y yo pensando como mrd sacas a un adolescente de problemas alimenticios si la moda y cultura coreana dice que es sano, no sé pero me dio pésimo rollo por los padres de esos chicos, agarraron lo peor de una cultura sin siquiera vivir allá

Llevo 8 años viviendo en Corea del Sur y me parece que has hecho un análisis muy interesante, objetivo y realista. A veces está uno tan metido en "la matrix" que se olvida de lo vigilado que está o por qué las vibras son tan pesadas en muchas ocasiones. La pena es que los casos como los que cuenta la chica sean tomados tan a la ligera y culpabilizando a las víctimas, especialmente si son extranjeras. Solo por ser extranjero tienes siempre las de perder, independientemente de la razón que tengas. Me pregunto qué va a ser de este país... Ojalá cambie para mejor porque así no puede seguir, sobre todo considerando su bajo nivel de natalidad, el gran número de coreanos que se quieren ir de aquí porque lo consideran un infierno y los que deciden abandonar este mundo. Mi novio es bombero y sé de primera mano la frecuencia con la que ve estos últimos casos, tristemente. Aun así, también hay gente maravillosa que merece la pena destacar.
